Thanks for sharing the info. But the international ping still bad, the speed not even reach 10Mb/sec, thats is not good for a fiber optic network.

we can live without it even it'll reach Kuching in 2014 or 2020. biggrin.gif In fact, I'm happy with my 1mbps.
What we want to see is overall performance (stability + speed offers + price). And I'm waiting for at least a few negative comments HSBB users smile.gif
*
Yes, means having HSBB around is not solving the performance that were issued long time ago. I haven't seen that people talk about HSBB IPV6. Anyone have this info...?

QUOTE(MX510 @ Feb 18 2010, 09:02 AM)
Now everyone can host their website on their PC since plenty of bandwidth to play with technology almost similar like leased line
*
Don't forget most of us are using dynamic IP Address. It is almost stability and reliability lies behind the HSBB project.

Is the bandwidth seperated from Streamyx ?

They were about same... just the technology were the different.

I hope not same network with steamyx, bcoz if steamyx server down, i think all down lor  tongue.gif

QUOTE(fabianz03 @ Feb 20 2010, 08:01 PM)
Uh, is HSBB sharing the same bandwith with Streamyx ?
Just say like TM have 100Gbps for Streamyx.
When HSBB lauches, they use 100Gbps that is reserved for Streamyx for that service.

I hope they better not.
*
Well TM got many mirror server, thats why if one down they route another place. Streamyx and HSBB are same service, except HSBB carry more services than Streamyx can do. If earthquake happen international, HSBB and Streamyx user will no exceptions from interruptions.

Not just Streamyx but all other services from nearby affected countries. Some people are just ignorant and blatantly flame streamyx doh.gif
*
Yes, whatever your intentions but if you were using cable which carry many types of service, if effected will cause all type of services disconnections no matter how good you manage them, just remembering the disaster of DdoS attacks or an virus attacks.

D-Link DIR-615 WiFi is not draft, its 802.11n finalize with up to 300Mb/sec, but the problem LAN and WAN only support 10/100Mb/sec

i see i see.. good news loh.. but bottleneck exists in LAN to wireless or the other way round....

btw from the pictures posted by other forumers, the DIR-615 is not the one shown in D-Link website right?
because (despite the colour) the size appears to be smaller than the actual 615, and there's a USB port in front of it...
hmm...
*
There is no USB port for DIR-615, you can refer the spec from http://www.dlink.com/products/?pid=565

I hope someday TM build own LAN, WiFi, WAN and fiber optic port all in one modem...

yup.. thats the reason why i said its not the actual dir-615 from the website.. i remember few pages back one forumer posted a pic of the
wireless modem (orange colour) given by TM.. the model number is DIR-615 and there's a USB port in front of the router...
*
Then it is not DIR-615 model as mention by manufacturer website, its another model that exact to DIR-615.

QUOTE(dr3nchippo @ Feb 21 2010, 04:56 PM)
not necessarily, u could always use it as an access point and extend ur wireless coverage
that could work, provided that ur router has VLAN and TR-069... TM uses that to ensure the CPE is up to date with the ACS... also remote troubleshooting uses that..
from the router level still using PPPoE.. a bit like streamyx, username@hsbb and password... my last chat with hsbb technician says set top box will be connected to router..
router custom made for tm with custom firmware.. usb port maybe for dlink's SharePort feature... hsbb tech told me.. so if he tipu me, then i tipu u.. hahaha  tongue.gif
*
Lols, if they lie to me, if my business not effected by the way they lie to me, it will not effect me forever unless they know what is the weakness point. icon_rolleyes.gif

Anyhow, I would know about HSBB updates... what happen now?

But oh wait..still electric could blackout if heavily lightning whistling.gif

Yes, fiber optics not design flow electrics, but light ONLY. My dear, but don't forget if lightning stuck that fiber optics cable, it would damaged.

how ever, Fiber Termination is no need power supply?
*
Light is light and electric is electric.
When comes to generate light, of course you need power, it so called repeater or gainer to do that, just repeat to keep them on same rate.

Yup. You're reading it right.

Enjoy while you have it.

i dn't think u can compare home user and business user one
sure will be different
*
It business should compare with business and home with home user. Because business designed to have very own cable... so, services is 100% available to them. Not a good idea to compare with...
