My network card is only a b/g card. So I didn't bother. Not like the broadband speed is more than 54 Mbps anyways. wink.gif

11g 54Mbps is full duplex total speed. We are getting a theoretical Maximum of 27Mbps each way on 11g, not accounting other factors.
I tested the 11g in my hometown where there is very little interference from neighbours and 1 reached 22Mbps for file transfer within the LAN, 7M from the router with 2 walls.

In the congested residential area where i study/live, I could scan many wifi routers around, I managed to reach 14Mbps being 4M from the router.
Another test behind 1 wall and about 6Meters from the router upstairs yielded less than 10Mbps.

I'm sure 11n comes in handy if you want to 'utilize' your HSBB

Here's a homeplug review. The writer did not realize that 200Mbps is the duplex speed.
At any rate, homeplug does have its downfalls, just make sure the wiring stuff is good enough to ensure you get good speeds.

Food for thought: if you want to spend over 200+ for this thing, why not go all the way and get a dual band N router. I don't know how 5Ghz 11n perform when theres a lot of 5Ghz routers around, but at least for the time being, you are covered.

That way gonna stick back to 4Mbps tqvm.
MX510 does 30GB a day average, on his 4Mbps

Even Australia has better speed+cap+pricing than we are paying on ADSLx somemore. They are in the middle of nowhere, thats why international bandwidth is expensive, Malaysia is to quote from our history textbook 'Tempat yang strategik di antara timur dan barat'

HSBB
# 10. Is there any FUP?

    * Yes. Fair Usage Policy (FUP) is a standard practise globally. TM is currently looking into this possibility.

======
maybe their will do same things..?not realy limit bw usage..but just throtte p2p speed.haha
which f'''ckers said FUP= limit BW per month??????????????????????
*
There's some truth in that FUP is a standard practise globally.

The Japanese practice for FUP for their 1Gbps line is 900GB upload permonth @ 30GB a day. No download limit.
See? Even Japan has FUP.

The last i read on dannychoo.com :
"Another nice thing about Japanese Internet connections is that there is no bandwidth cap. One could download trillions (figure of speech) of GBs without paying a yen more. I was shocked when I heard about caps in other countries."

Should be reliable enough. Though the link to the source in Slashdot doesn't seem to be working

What do you look like. biggrin.gif

HSBB is for downloaders, thats that. You can stream youtube nicely on 4Mbps before they throttled. I don't use pps

To put matters into perspective, imagine your uncle/father/sister/aunt, whoever that uses internet for fesbuk, ocassional youtube, etc, their reaction to HSBB will be "Need so much speed for what?"
Thats why people like me start worrying about caps.

TM gives us 1 plate of rice, asks us to share with 25 people. When some don't get to makan, they blame the people who kuat makan. But why didn't you question TM, who not give us a bigger plate of rice?

Here's what i gathered
TM HSBB 5Mbps - 60GB, 10Mbps -90GB, 20Mbpos - 120GB

The display sets has 50Mbps line, thus 1080p streaming on youtube loads finish before you finish watching it.
Downloads reach 3.4MB/s
Speedtest to Amsterdam yieleded 1Mbps on the same 50Mbps line. Lol

This confirms the speed of what the trial users been shown

FUP will not be implemented temporarily.
Pricing will be officially revealed tomorrow, but i was told that 5 and 10Mbps will be under rm200.

IPTV has 2 HD channels, both no one will bother to watch.

Looks like heavy downloaders like me no need to use hsbb

I think thats all we need to know
