If the extra bandwidth from the 10mb and 20mb packages are dedicated to TV and phone, I would just get the 5mbps.
I have no faith whatsoever in TV programming from a government-linked company.

Well, I've been using it for about a week now. It's so far so good. Not mind blowingly fast all the time, but I did manage to hit 500KBps consistently on 1 download.

QUOTE(Aggroboy @ Mar 13 2010, 01:51 PM) Download from where. The users said youtube is still throttled, is that true? One of those rapidshare kinda websites. I can't remember which one. i so far have no problems just letting youtube run. some run faster, and some run slower. I have to emphasize how inconsistent the connection is.

Well, if you guys read today's The Star there's an article on ManUtd deal with TM. There, they mention the cheapest package is around RM100.

“We foresee HSBB having a take-up rate in the region of 20,000 by year-end. This will further expand to 110,000 by the end of 2011. Our main assumption hinges on the RM100/month package – the lowest package on offer,”
lowest rm100 huh.. cheaper than 2mb and 4mb

There, they mention the cheapest package is around RM100. yep, the cheapest package is RM100. http://biz.thestar.com.my/news/story.asp?f...56&sec=businessQUOTE TM, which has spent RM1.8bil in capital expenditure for HSBB, is set to launch its next-generation HSBB retail service on March 24 where it will also be unveiling the new branding for this service as well as its tiered packages and pricing. The HSBB retail packages will comprise triple-play services of voice, video (Internet-Protocol TV and video on demand) as well as high-speed Internet.
AmResearch in a report said demand for TM’s upcoming video services would largely hinge on pricing and contents offered.
“We foresee HSBB having a take-up rate in the region of 20,000 by year-end. This will further expand to 110,000 by the end of 2011. Our main assumption hinges on the RM100/month package – the lowest package on offer,” the report added. well, for now we know that the lowest package is at RM100 a month. RM100 for what kind of package ? 10, 15, 20 mbps / download & upload speed ? retail packages will comprise triple-play services of voice, video (Internet-Protocol TV and video on demand) as well as high-speed Internet as said above

If they really offer RM100 as their cheapest offer, they must consider to change the Streamyx prices already !

Not mind blowingly fast all the time, but I did manage to hit 500KBps consistently on 1 download. That's not too exciting - I get that with my current Streamyx 4mbps. ... which feels very slow after getting back from Thailand where I was getting 1.5MB/s downloads on ADSL. hahaha.. does it have a caption to it like other countries?
i rmb a fren saying tht he had like 20mb connection for i dunno how much aussie dollars but cap to like 20gb a month ? I GUARANTEE the price vs SPEED will be like so tempting.
but after u look at the SMALL SMALL writing behind the T&C.... HAHA thats the part where it will suck like hell. U knw la malaysia...i rather stick to the 1 or 2mb connection with dynamic IP.
oh yea. with the HSSB will it be dynamic or static? if static.....mampus la.. how to rapidshare all.. sumore if got capacity caption...tak payah download..sumore u'll be tracked down if u're downloaing piraed stuffs if there is static IP.
i have a bad feeling about tis high speed.. something fishy is up! !
