Now everyone can host their website on their PC since plenty of bandwidth to play with technology almost similar like leased line

you're making one assumption.

If that speed and most importantly, the connection, are consistent.

I wonder if the D-Link router is a requirement, or if it can be put in a closet in favor of our own equipment. It's not something I would want on my network.
*
i think its a requirement..

Not really.. have to do a pingtest to be sure. Hye can you guys do a ping test at pingtest.net? then we can see what the connection quality is really like smile.gif
*
pingtest.net results.. obviously the test to kl server is very good.. tests to other servers shows relatively high ping... with 0% packet loss and almost no jitter all TM have to do is deal with the high ping time.. and they're all set!!

the fiber optic cable will terminate to the fiber modem.. the router & DECT phone connects to the modem... not sure about ur router though, if im not mistaken tm is using vlan in the router for troubleshooting purposes...
besides the router provided is not that bad, heck its even free...

Oh ok, thanks for the info, as long as the service is good. I have the same ping to USA with my 1Mbps. I seek for a lower ping after the 'real' upgrade.

we can live without it even it'll reach Kuching in 2014 or 2020. biggrin.gif In fact, I'm happy with my 1mbps.
What we want to see is overall performance (stability + speed offers + price). And I'm waiting for at least a few negative comments HSBB users smile.gif
*
Yes, means having HSBB around is not solving the performance that were issued long time ago. I haven't seen that people talk about HSBB IPV6. Anyone have this info...?

Don't forget most of us are using dynamic IP Address. It is almost stability and reliability lies behind the HSBB project.

For people who received the letter from HSBB but nobody called, please call 1300881222 to register your package.

DO NOT call streamyx because they know NOTHING and will keep asking you to wait until the trial over also ask you to wait.

I just called the HSBB line and the customer service straight away explain to me about HSBB and registered my confirmation. Next week TM people should come to my house. Can't wait! laugh.gif

Basically, i guess they will choose those who falls within the coverage area and also who been a good subscriber of streamyx for years.

my bad, i thought there was a way to become a beta tester.
i think that TM just randomly picks anyone to become a beta tester by sending them an e-mail with comfirmation to become one.
just pray it'll be one of us.

beta tester guys, please do us a favour by posting your local and international speed by doing a speedtest.
or even a screenshot of your donwload speed for big size files would be sweet too.
if you've done it, thank you.

please do feel free to post some pictures of the other stuff that was given to you guys by TM.
do continue to update us for those any upcoming beta testers.

hopefully the prices will be reveal soon and i hope its not to pricey. cross fingers.
for now, lets continue discussing TM's HSBB smile.gif
