11g 54Mbps is full duplex total speed. We are getting a theoretical Maximum of 27Mbps each way on 11g, not accounting other factors.
I tested the 11g in my hometown where there is very little interference from neighbours and 1 reached 22Mbps for file transfer within the LAN, 7M from the router with 2 walls.

In the congested residential area where i study/live, I could scan many wifi routers around, I managed to reach 14Mbps being 4M from the router.
Another test behind 1 wall and about 6Meters from the router upstairs yielded less than 10Mbps.

I'm sure 11n comes in handy if you want to 'utilize' your HSBB

i think dat TM will provide (or need to buy) homeplug too..

For IPTV i think u can get guarantee speed.
all content from local...

For international bandwidth I bet they do not guarantee the bandwidth..
even HSBB is > 1 year..

As what i know, HK , SG also do not guarantee u subscribe 10mbps and get 10Mbps international link.

No, even if you stay back using Streamyx, it'll be the same. The international link is shared between all broadband and dial-up.

Seriously guys, even if you get 2mbps for Youtube it's better than using dial-up. Stop ranting about it. If can't help it, just go directly to TM to rant. Don't want to subscribe then fine. If less user subscribe then better for those subscribers -- can get better speed.

There's downtime for the service when a lot of users are downloading, it happens.

The advantage of HSBB over Streamyx is that we can get better torrent speed (higher upload speed so hopefully there will be more seeders), and that's important enough for most subscribers. If during non-peak hours, then we can get full bandwidth for international content (there will still be latency problems).

Interesting i am thinking to try this thing too... because when at night my terrace house can scan like 6-7 wife (included me) O.o
That day until causing my sister wifi desktop only can receive file with speed like 256kbps =.="
Until i set my wifi router to force it run on 11g and different channel only my sister speed able to run on like abt 1.x MBps

Thinking to switch to wifi N currently... wifi G feel "sesak" at my area. BTW using DLINK DIR-300 Wifi Router (Wifi N PCI card wat price?)

The other day I went to TM Ampang. Ask one of their personnel there. He mentioned that the demand is high in Ampang area. Might be that Ampang is included in Q1. How true is that, I am not sure. I am just hoping that Keramat will be included as Keramat is in Ampang Jaya as well tongue.gif

Here's a homeplug review. The writer did not realize that 200Mbps is the duplex speed.
At any rate, homeplug does have its downfalls, just make sure the wiring stuff is good enough to ensure you get good speeds.

Food for thought: if you want to spend over 200+ for this thing, why not go all the way and get a dual band N router. I don't know how 5Ghz 11n perform when theres a lot of 5Ghz routers around, but at least for the time being, you are covered.

superb at normal browsing but any FLV steaming(youtube and other similiar) is cap at morning only smooth after 12pm/1am
Download is depend of the Server side Mostly 200kb +- and some 400kb +- with Download Manager
Torrenting (good seeder) 200-500kb night 100-200kb Day
Using Utorrent & Xun Lei depend which country seeder
If US/Europe Utorrent perform better
If china Seeder Xun lei is better

But recently it have some routing issue to China and europe. No perform as well as last time.
