Read somewhere saying that this is not burn in but called pixel persistence. Burn in only applies to those phosphorus based tv like plasma. Usually it will go away after a while if the pixels are not stucked or dead. Try to watch it in 16:9 format for a while to see whether it will disappear

QUOTE(choontoy @ Feb 17 2010, 09:48 AM) I had mentioned b4 that LCD will affected burn in images as well @ early post but no one believe. Maybe not that ppl don't believe it but hardly see a case like this. Not sure is there anyone else who also watch it in 4:3 for long period of time have the same issue before ? Good to share for everyone's knowledge on this.

QUOTE(lightning69 @ Feb 17 2010, 01:30 PM) I don't think its burn in problem. I saw a friend of mine's 52" Toshiba LCD which he bought for Rm13K having the same problem exactly like yours with 2 darker bars on the side. The funny thing is that he never watch any 4:3 video on his TV. Its either a faulty LCD panel or electronics that couse it. It doesn't make sense to me also to have light source based TV to have burn in. Has the problem gone away eventually or it has become permanent dead in pixel transition ?

QUOTE(choontoy @ Feb 18 2010, 10:14 AM) I saw it several same issue mostly @ klinik b4. Maybe they were using the cheapest LCD TV they can get for cost saving like those in restaurants and other public places then this might be possible caused by the low quality of panel used like what lightning69 said, it's a panel fault.

QUOTE(arc_archive @ Feb 23 2010, 02:44 PM) Sum might not agreed bout the lcd burn in do happen..but..ive seen such cases happen mostly in industrial work where most of the time, the lcd being turn ON all the time (the lcd act as GUI/Monitoring the condition of specific machine)..till the lcd died (either from the dead pixel spreading or the backlight problem occurred). even for my lcd,im not agreed to let it idling with static image even for 5 min...rather turn the display off.. my 2cent.. Do you switch Astro channel every 5 minutes to avoid the channel logo being static there for too long ? I think most of the cases mentioned here are in extreme condition displaying a static image for a very long hours everyday. For the normal home users, who will watch tv 24 x 7 till lcd die off, so it's all different story comparing those lcd tv being used commercially with those used at home. I've had 3 lcd tv before including the current one and never experience at once so called the "burn in" where most of the time watching Astro channels whith their static logos at the top right corner for hours
