2. which area you wish to stay and what's ur budget. for shopping purpose, i would recommend Pratunam area which is nearby to Platinum. I'd stayed in Budacco Hotel before. Nice and cozy. per nite is about 1500 baht for oriental room for 2 pax inclusive of breakfast. for upper market, you can try Centara which is smack right in Central World. It cost more but you'll pay for the price. Check some website for hotels. there's lots of hotel in bkk which is affordable. the price is much much cheaper compare to KL hotel.
you better book hotel early as dec is peak season in BKK.3. hmm, i guess u can't hit to pub or club or even some adult entertainment area. best place is to visit night bazaar and then go back hotel for a rest. for youngster, can try hit to club such as CM2, bossy, or climax and some other club.
