Hi guys ,

Going to Bangkok again next week. Intend to stay at Salil Hotel near Skhumvit. Any better choice. Had stay at Citin Pratunam before last year but dun like that area.

Any one reserve hotel rooms tru Sawadee.com. Is it safe? Found that the package offer in Sawadee.com is cheaper than air asia. Any one had better way to reserve room and getting good offer?

Thanks.

really? then ok la..citin pratunam it is..since i read at the website that pratunam market is like 1km away only. thanks again!

I had stayed in citin pratunam before but i dun like that area. Even though there are a lot of street stalls, the place is a bit of run down and too far from BTS. Why not consider stay at Sukhumvit, i stayed at grand president service apartment. The room is fully furnish with small kitchen with big fridge, microwave oven, cooking utensils, etc. The room is really big.

For shopping at Pratunam just take the BTS and stop at Chitlom and walk from Central World to Pratinam fashion mall than go to Pratunam market and eat the chicken rice opposite Pratunam complex.

Cheers. rclxms.gif rclxms.gif rclxms.gif

Even though the price may not be really very much cheaper than malaysia, but i find that with the same price range their underwear and socks quality is much better than here one ( mostly from china though ).
Just wish i could buy more. Their roast pork in china town is damn cheap. Only RM9 per 250gm. Taste nice too.

Ohh..
mean that baiyoke suite is just nearer than budacco abit..
so budacco is walking distance to platinum, pratunam area..
how about siam paragon etc
*
From Platinum if you want to walk you will reach Central Mall about 50 m away and from Central Mall you can use the skylink below the BTS to walk to Siam Paragon which is about 100 m away. All located near by. However from Platinum walk to Central is not so comfortable as there is one construction site on going and no shade when you cross the bridge. Remember to eat the chicken rice which is about 50 m away from platinum fashion mall . ( opposite the abandoned Pratunam Mall )

thats good..
so u will recommend budacco??
or there are any other hotel better??

that chic rice nice??
y u highly recommend??
haha  laugh.gif

The chicken rice is nice and cheap... they also sell meat stick like satay. only 30 bath per plate.
Well i dun really like to stay at pratunam area. for shopping is fine but not for stay. baiyoke also not really nice, it is kind of run down and not really nice to walk especially at this kind of weather. I stay in citin pratunam before which is nearby budacco...The hotel room is ok but once you walk outside it is not the kind of experience you wanted.and very far from BTS.

I stay in Grand President Hotel located at Soi 11 , sukhumvit during my visit last month. The surrounding is nice with many nice restaurant. The downstair is a german restaurant, opposite is japanese and italian restaurant, the side is australian restaurant, as you walk down the street, you can find some stall but not too many, got saloon as well..... I book from Airasia at RM185 inclusive of American breakfast for 2. The food is nice too. It is fully furnished with small kitchen and fridge. Here are some photo i took for the hotel room and the stall along the road to hotel.

Is this hotel nearby platinum mall??

This hotel is at Sukhumvit, ( like Jalan Sultan Ismail of KL ) which if you take BTS from Nana Station at Sukhumvit, you will stop at 2 station down the road at Siam ( if not mistaken ). Take a walk along the elevated walk bridge to Central Mall and just walk along the first floor air-con corridor at Central Mall if you dun want to shop there ( Central Mall like lot 10 here, branded stuff only) and come down, than you walk about 100 m, you will reach Pratinum mall. ( like Chowkit area in KL )

If this is the first time you go to bangkok, it is always nice for you to just explore yourself with the map.

It is never too far. Try their BTS and MRT, taxi for experience.

Okie i mistaken, the famous chicken rice that the forum-er mentioned was closed for lunch when i was there. I thought the small shop is the one....Well there is a newspaper cutting show that is one of 50 places to go in bangkok...mmmn...

I believe BTS combined with MRT can bring you to most of the places in Bangkok except China town ( Yaowarat ).. so just take taxi will do. hmm.gif

Hi guys, my friends and I are going to BKK this July and we actually prefer an accom like an apartment, where all of us can be under 1 unit. Any recommendations instead of hotels? I rather spend the money on shopping actually tongue.gif

going in end of Aug. Till now only manage to book tix. haven't plan any other things yet. By that time the BTS that link to airport will be open? or izzit MRT? sumthing like SG izzit?
*
The express train project to Airport had been suspended for many years already. I heard from taxi driver it is due to corruption by current government ??? Any way taxi is always the first choice in Bangkok, reasonable price and reliable. rclxms.gif rclxms.gif rclxms.gif

It's cheaper because of the distance nia-lah (~<30km) Otherwise interm of fare/KM & also the ridicolous high toll rate (thb70), Malaysia taxi rate still cheaper  biggrin.gif
*
KLIA was built rediculously far from KL, must be some sort of hankibanki...mn
Malaysia taxi rate is cheaper??? I bet to differ. They are very difficult to get and most of the time refuse to use meter. KL taxi is one of the most notorious in the world. Malaysia Boleh mad.gif mad.gif mad.gif

Okie, it is the cheapest and surprisingly it is the least popular ...mn What a paradox. Cheapest but poorest service and worst condition proton.

Just came back from Bangkok yesterday. Stayed at First House Hotel. Strongly NOT recommended. that place sucks. Anyway i went to the grand palace (this is the 2nd time for me but first time for my other friends). so I brought them there and we attempt to go thru the local lane for Thai but failed. LOL. I really dunno why the officer suspect us. Cos I'm sure all 4 of us looks very much like them also. Maybe because we walk in group?

Grand President at Soi 11 Sukhumvit is nice.
