destfull: Whatchu talking about? The joystick has been there since the A700! And we have no idea how this grip will feel like.

Anyway you must realize that the A700 has Quick Navi because it's not a Live View camera - the A550 is optimized to be used in Live View (do you find that when using the optical viewfinder, the button layout isn't so friendly?) So the A700 replacement is following the A550's style, with possibly more optimization for video shooting (except the non-tilt screen, bah.)

destfull, how can u justify what you've said regarding the grip and joystick? its the same as the old A700 D-pad (joystick) and have u held the A7xx before? how would u know its not as comfortable if not more? and when u said you're disappointed by its LCD, do u mean by tilt angle or resolution?

for me (not speaking for others smile.gif ) personally the fixed/non tilting LCD is a deal breaker for me. I guess I soo used to using the tilting LCD on A550 tongue.gif

One thing I've never liked about the more serious Canons is the thumbwheel, and boy am I glad the A700 replacement doesn't have it.

Kul | Mo0: I seriously don't get your gear buying and selling rationale. At this point I fear you're seeming to be gearheaded.

haha the thumbwheel is alright but I dont like the method in choosing the AF points for the lower range canons (lower than 5d)
