i wonder how true is this?

this applies to 3rd party too, as 3rd party copy blindly from the original design... lol  rclxms.gif

hence it is weird to actually hold nikon or canon's vgrip... it make ur hand has to hold at extra higher height, it makes it sooo unnatural to hold, try imagine and hold it...  shakehead.gif
*
i would prefer the Nikon / Canon position of the grip..
I add the grip becoz the body is too small to hold.. (For tthose entry level camera) by adding a VG, it make the camera nicer to hold at landscape position.. But when I change to Portrait position, the grips become short (entry level Sony camera)

hmmm william...i think the photo itself might not be a problem but it could be the ratio of canvas to subject pictured ( the boat )... . maybe ..not enough emphasis is placed on the subject.... i did two crops to see how i would have done it la... but what do u think.?

Added on March 17, 2010, 2:20 amas u can see...now since the subject is bigger in ratio to the overall picture...it is hence highligted and the subject of the picture is no longer in doubt...

hmmmm, interesting twist in the composition.. i'd love the one with portrait orientation; but placing the boat on the left quarter instead of the right. this one leads the eye out of the picture.

Added on March 17, 2010, 2:29 ambut yeah, i guess that's it, the subject is a bit too small in relation to the image.

yupyup..i agree..then position the boat on the left lor...coz we tend to read from left to right also...
so the subject placed there will "hit " the viewr first! smile.gif

Added on March 17, 2010, 2:32 ambut if u notice the trail of the boat?.... if u crop to make the boat on the left..wont be so tight and also it will cut the "leading line of the wake of the bat".... ..dilmma .. if static object easier to frame

benro A-168m8+BH-0 - ~RM600

allu
4section.
travel angel (very small when folded, but still a strong tripod when unfold)
8kg load, the BH-0 is 6kg, hence 6kg loadlimit (more then enough, unless u plan to do birding where the head is little un-versatile)
max height of 1.41m + head around another 15cm

water resistant twist lock (better and faster then fast clip ler)!

utube benro travel angel, and prepare to get heavy poison...

to sum it up. allu 4 sec, 1410mm~ height, 375mm! folded, 8kg load tripod!, water resistant twist lock... (sorry to introduce a twist lock, but benro's twist seem very reliable)
*

Thanks ieR. rclxms.gif
I had a look at Benro youtube vids and man!!! they are poisonous... !!! sweat.gif
But I cant find any Benro tripods/monopod in KKinabalu. sad.gif

Had a look at velbon Sherpa 600R, selling at RM260/- in KKInabalu... got me interested. unsure.gif

If you're on APS-C then the Sony 50mm f1.8 wins hands down. The Minolta 50mm f1.7 is a full frame lens and the one thing that gets to me is it's rather long MFD. I do not know exactly the MFD but I do find myself having to back up to get things in focus sometimes.

IQ wise the Sony should be sharper and has better bokeh.
