When I look at the photo, I felt few things were not right... but cannot point the problem. Now that you've mentioned the OOF, yes... that hit me. I think I had difficulty in the auto focusing dept. Not sure if it would help me if I had used the MF....
Also, as the ambient light was not enough, I had to use the built in flash to light up a bit IIRC.

Pls share how you manage to get that sharp shots...
did you use a flash? CPL filter?

CBL lens? never heard before.
But I was thinking would it not be much cheaper getting a gray/white card and calibrate the camera to the gray/white card at the set (photo shoot location), than buying a CBL lens... 

On your macro setup... so elaborate (compared to mine hehe... I dont even have a macro lens )
Dont you get light reflecting on the glass panel when the flash fires ?

cj, did you use the sigma 105mm macro ONLY at the butterfly park or other lens too? also in your Picasa "butterfly park" album, did you use the raynox in any of the shots?

is Sony SAL16F28 fisheye a circular or diagonal FE ? What about the Samyang  8mm f3.5
