weixuan: A 24mm on FF should have a petal hood, like the 24-70mm. This ALC-SH0003 is shaped only for telephoto, and it only fits the Zeiss 135mm at the moment.
And so I predict that the Zeiss 24mm F2.0 will have a newly designed hood which is not shared with any other lenses. As it is, the Zeiss 24-70mm has a 77mm filter thread. The Zeiss 24mm F2.0 has a 72mm filter thread. We don't have any other lenses that use 72mm filter threads while being relatively wide (other than the Minolta 28-70mm F2.8G which has a lens hood that is like a bigger metal version of the 18-70mm lens hood!) Even then, since the hood is designed for 28mm, when put on the 24mm F2.0 there would probably be vignetting. |
