Dell informed me (before CNY) that the delivery date for my unit is 3rd March. They only told me verbally, so it is my word against theirs. Given the huge backlog that they have to do, let's see whether they can pull this off.

Hah! After much pushing and prodding, checked the order status today, and it had moved to "Work In Progress".
*
Yup confirmed. Mine also moved into the same status.

doh.gif Then, you guys cannot claim for freebies? They are so clever ...

See when do they deliver the machine. "Work in Progress" may take a long while. I'm still counting on Dell not being able to deliver then can claim freebies. I sent them an e-mail a few days and they are still have yet to reply. mad.gif

Those wanting to upgrade their warranty from 1 year to 3 years with complete cover, can do so but need to call in to their SA right when they get their notebook.

You'll pay slightly more than the RM473 listed in the system.

hmmm...will they ever consider building the m11x with our personalised metalic tag in the future?

I'm rather reserved on this idea coz when you want to sell your NB 2nd hand, dunno ppl want it or not. It's gonna look like a stolen goods coz it got another person's name on it!

cuz the built in cooler system is sufficient enough to keep the laptop's temperature low smile.gif
thats one of the main purpose of purchasing an alienware product.
*
Yeah ... notice my lappy is very cool as compared to the many notebooks I have previously owned over the years. In the next couple of years when it's time to renew my lappy, I'll probably go for another Alienware again. Now I need another power adapter to work both @ home & in the office. (Waiting for Dell to quote me) I can't help but to notice the head is probably the same as per the Latitude models ?

I haven't been playing games like you guys ... just happy with playing YouTube on it with no lag. My old machine couldn't handle a lag free video playback on YouTube. With have some games installed over the next few weeks !

Hi regarding negotiating the price for the M11x, how do I go about it? Do I place the order online first and wait for Dell people to call and negotiate, or straight away call the SA and negotiate on the spot before placing the order?
*
Call the SA direct. But success of the negotiation depends on your skills and luck. Likely for success if you order the upgraded sets and not just the basic sets.

Perhaps yes but you have to wait a long time before shops starts to have this. Why don't you just order it online ?

Going to received my Alienware M11x soon.
How to create partition on your current HDD on the Alienware m11x without need to reinstall a new fresh windows 7?
Any recommended software?
*
No need to get any software. Windows 7 and Vista can do it for ya. Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Computer Management -> Disk Management

hey teikwing, 1 question here..
M11x in battery mode with integrate graphic can last how long yea?
from notebookcheck said that can last for 6 hours? izit true?
*
I can manage about 3 hours only with WiFi and Bluetooth enabled. 6 hours likely you go bare minimum with everything. No WiFi, minimum screen brightness, no bluetooth, etc.

The Alienware M11x suits my travelling requirements and that's the main reason I got it. Plus, it's cool! (as in design and doesn't overheats like all my other lappy)

BTW ... just finished Warhammer 40K and finds the game to be rather short. The last battle really taxed my M11x, basically the game slowed down so much.

Guys ... I just noticed this as well.
My service tag ID is practically disappearing! It looks like it was painted so "the paint" is practically 'peeling' away.
Perhaps the folks here experience the same thing.

Not sure what happened since it is most of the time either sitting on my cooler @ the office / home.
