I have seen Windows boots in 1 second using 8 SSD raid 0 config, but thats a desktop ofcourse, so for a laptop, I doubt you will need a SSD especially not at the current price. Maybe another 5 more years before the market start adapting fully on Solid State Disk.

Just wanna ask, how big is the size difference between the M15x and M17x? it's not really that much of a difference, is it?
*
2 inch screen size differences with an extra 2-3 more kg and an extra numpad on the keyboard, thats quite a big difference I did say for a laptop. sweat.gif
Its like comparing a bee to a fly, tho they are both small insects, yet there is a significant size difference and of course in terms of functionality as well icon_idea.gif GTX 280m SLI rclxms.gif

Just curious if anyone has encountered a problem with shutting down your M15x, where it will restart shortly after it shut off.

Updating to the latest driver doesn't seem to help, was yours fixed? what version are you using?

Are you using Windows 7 64 Bit and do u hav an external monitor plugged in? What Bios version are you using? A02 or A03? 195.62 WHQL ? or is it some tweaked driver from Laptopvideo2go/Dox/Forceware

Sorry for my many questions, but this problem has been annoying me for ages.

Uuuhhhh its been haunting me for ages too...glad that it fix finally...ok here's the info...
Bios version A03
OS Win 7 64 bit
latest updated nvidia driver 195.62 WHQL (downloaded from nvidia's website)

hope that it'll fix yours as well...
Strange that its the drivers that giving me problem all this time

Just curious if you have an external monitor plugged in your comp VGA port when you shut down. 195.62 doesn't fix mine, maybe because I am still using A02 BIOS, will flash my BIOS tonight to the unofficial A03 and see how it goes.

For those encountering the problem with shutdown ( restart shortly after it shuts down ) on M15x, the solution is to install
196.86 driver downloaded from laptopvideo2go.com and then make sure you run a clean uninstall of the previous driver ( using registry cleaner CCleaner and driver cleaner Driver Sweeper ),
this should solve the problem completely, do not install version 195.xx as they do not work.
