Regarding my earlier post about my headset, I pretty much fixed it by installing the Realtek HD Audio drivers =\

Yeah I used to get crackling, not anymore though. Just played Bioshock 2 with it and it sounds even more epic!

Okay, wtf. Bioshock 2 has crashed twice on me.
And TF2 crashed on me just now. It was all above 60fps, why the hell is it crashing?
Has it got to do with heat? Because it's been really hot lately =\

yea. crashing might have something to do with heat too, and usually it will affect your FPS.

and anyway, your game is original or opposite?
*
It's ahem, but I used my Lost Planet CD-Key and updated fully(one complaint is that it takes freaking forever to find a game. Then it's overly laggy.)
Works on Xbox Live well, got all my achievements etc.
In my gamercard in my sig.

Edit:Since I started playing in the daytime, my FPS has been taking a hit as well. I also don't think it helps that I leave this machine on 24/7, but my life goes broken as soon as my computer is off D:

You mean the resource disc?
I can make an iso of it and send it to you, I'm more than sure THAT'S not illegal since that's just drivers that's supposed to come with the computer ANYWAY =\

Um, this was cloned straight from the original DVD, no cracks tweaks or anything else.
Most BS2 rips today don't even have the Multiplayer part anyway...

I Was planning to get the BIOSHOCK 2 Game for my M15x. Games don't crash on me anymore since I got my GPU Changed way back in January. Temps go as high as 84celcius and it still runs fine..... Am wondering if its due to it being an 'cough' version? I would love to play part 2 of this game after trying out part 1 of it..... smile.gif
*
I personally suggest you go original for Bioshock 2. For the ahem version there are the rips that have horrible performance(look back on some of the previous posts), or you find the ones that require a legit key and a fixed image, even still it's really troublesome.
Save yourself the trouble and play it the way it's meant to be played. This is coming from the guy who pirated ALL his games on his Alienware icon_idea.gif

I went to the movies during Earth Hour >_>
Alice in Wonderland disappointed me so much.

Anyway, question: Is it possible to force the fan to go at maximum? Say I want to cool it off on a hot day before I go for a TF2 sesh.

YUP. YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW I FEEL NOW.
I HAVEN'T EVEN HAD IT FOR A WEEK.

Under normal circumstances, I would open up the computer and get the DVD drive and somehow fish out the disc, but apparently Alienware doesn't take too kindly on customers who open up their computers.

Added on March 28, 2010, 8:46 pmEdit: Um, I just repeatedly pressed eject and my pilated Dawn of War 2 came out. That's the last time I put in a CD that has a sticker on it. Torrent time...

Hey mate, this happen on my M17x before.. haha
The only reason i think is because of ahem's CD..
*
IIRC it's because the CD art was a sticker, apparently that's bad for slotloading drives.
I used to label my CDs like that, led to my old laptop's CD drive a splode.

but in ur personal opinion..should i proceed with the m17x or consider the m15x?
*
The M15x is already ridiculously large and barely fits in my backpack.
I don't even want to know how big the M17x is.

So imo, you'd only be buying the M17x as a total desktop replacement. It's as portable as a desktop itself.
At least with the M15x, it DOES(barely) fit in a bag, so if you really need to, you can carry it around.

If portability isn't an issue, definetely go for the M17x. Quad core is more than enough to do anything today, and its performance downright murders the M15x.

it is good processor to run most of the program - except gaming due to the HTT. most of the game use real clock (1.6GHz for i7-720), not clock during HTT.

but if you are not enthusiast that doesn't demanding of high setting, it suit you well smile.gif
*
How do I get it to use 2.8GHz? I NEED MORE FRAMES DAMMIT. I get paranoid when any of my games are under 60fps.

Yeah that, it's pretty much wajib to get the 260. You're paying so much money, might as well pay a little more to get the most out of a 15 inch laptop.

I didn't buy an M15x for the style and design at all, I just wanted a good gaming rig.
Does that mean I spent money wrong? ._.

you might want to survey Sager gaming laptop too if the word 'Alienware'  don't mean anything to you. smile.gif
*
A bit late for that. I saw a Sager that had a GTX280 on its 15" and my heart sank.
Please excuse me, I'm going to cry.
