doing benchmarks for games not covered by string.

here's Batman: Arkham Asylum

Settings: 1366 x 768, V-Sync ON, AA OFF, Details VERY HIGH, PhysX NORMAL

Attached Image

FPS
Min: 27
Max: 60
Avg: 43

have not tried with V-Sync off as it's the default settings once i got the game installed. min/avg/max FPS should score higher if it's set to off.

@teikwing

Carry on. My other games are old ones, like the 3 C&Cs. I'll wait for March 16th for the C&C 4, but if anyone wants benchmarks based on the games I have (refer my previous bench posts, for the list of games I have), just post here. I'll do what I can.

To the person asking for BFBC2, I'm not into BFBC2 so I'm not going to do that. BFBC2 reminds me of a certain a$%^hole that I try not to remember. Sort of like a bad taste in the mouth.
*
sure mate. will do it whenever i can find some free time. smile.gif

QUOTE(jem77fp @ Mar 3 2010, 03:12 AM)
I cant access the order status page thing too. Exact same problem, saying i have to put the correct information again. I thought it was just me getting banned or sth for checking every half an hour for an update lol.
*
it's absolutely normal. there are times when Dell are doing some maintenance on its database. just try few hours later.

no issue for me on SF IV. will post a short benchmark on that. fan working only when gaming, or normally i don't really realize it's spinning.

games all ripped and installed via .ISO, in my case.

@teikwing do u use cooler? or put anything below ur laptop?

Added on March 6, 2010, 12:36 am@teikwing, which antivirus u using? do u overclock ur cpu?

THIS IS MY FUNNY TEMPERATURE, JUST DOING 3 THINGS, MOZILLA + MSN + PLAY 6 SONGS
CURRENT CPU NOT OVERCLOCKED AT 1.3GHZ
*
been on 1.6/1.73Ghz since day one, overclocked right out of the box.

uninstalled Dell Backup and McAFee on day one too.

currently using MSE or Microsoft Security Essentials. decent virus detection rate, plenty of good reviews online about it and best of all, LIGHTWEIGHT. used to be on Kaspersky AV and IMO, MSE provides the same amount of protection but being less resource-hogging. smile.gif

@zerokid:

mine 6315. laugh.gif however, like what string has stated, it's just a ball park figure. i bet when comes to gaming, there would be zero noticeable difference.

anyway, looking to get an external LCD for the M11x. this looks promising, LED 18.5":

BenQ 922HDL

since 1366x768 would be the optimal gaming resolution for the M11x, my thought is anything larger than 19" (on 1366x768) would make the images looked blurry. anyone?

will be doing some shopping at LYP this weekend btw. smile.gif

just did BFBC2 for 3 hours straight. CPU temp stays at 46 max while GPU at 51 max.

and yes, gameplay-wise it's so much better than MW2.

got 20-35 fps for settings as below:

- details and textures on high
- shadows and effects on low
- AA 1x, HBAO & VSync off.
- DX9 and resolution at 1280 x 720.

will try it out with DX10 and lower settings later on. for now, am enjoying the game a lot! wink.gif

fps never drop below 20 ? so geng? hmmm
*
lowest recorded is 17 but that was kinda rare. on average, that's the fps range. smile.gif

ADD-ON:
to add, the game is perfectly playable, except some dips during intense gunfire/detailed environment.

merelly small noticeable differences in fps if all on low hence i've decided to go for all high except for effects and shadows.

here's the numbers from someone on NBR:

*do take note of the min and avg fps.

QUOTE
okay I ran on all lows and not much improvement.. only 1.5FPS gain seen.. updated my original BFBC2 benchmark.

just benched on high graphcal details and high textures.. only avg of 1FPS drop.. lol

edited my post some more with 4 quick runs over the same area, testing out effects, details, and textures each separately.

now from a save point I walked through an area toward the beginning of a cutscene, maybe just a 15-20second walk. All runs are the same from here on down.

detail high, textures high, shadows low, effects high
Min Max Avg
22 38 31.137

detail low, textures low, shadows low, effects high
Min Max Avg
29 46 37.442

I can start saving for one then,or something similar.

The frame rates isnt very high, though. BF3 will kill M11X.

yeap. M11x definitely can't handle CPU-intensive games. nevertheless, it's still a good performer when comes to most of the titles. wink.gif

M11x in battery mode with integrate graphic can last how long yea?
from notebookcheck said that can last for 6 hours? izit true?
*
err i have not try out the battery yet as i hardly travel nowadays but like what hye mentioned, 6 hours+ achievable only if screen dimmed to minimum, non-OC CPU and probably minimal WiFi usage. smile.gif

hmm...usually how long it takes for them to confirm ur order?
*
it depends. in my case, made my payment on 3rd, confirmed on 5th and order was only confirmed on 11th. however, this only applies to the first batch order of M11x.

for my last purchase of a Vostro, confirmation of payment took 24 hours and order is build/confirmed within 3 days. do note that credit card payment took the least time to confirm (within 1 day) while cheque and bank transfer might take up to 3 days. smile.gif

sorta off-topic but just got myself an Orochi today. always been a big fan of Logitech mices (was using a VX Nano for nearly 2 years) and have been contemplating about getting this or the G9x (40 bucks cheaper, original version of the TactX mouse, higher dpi settings, adjustable weight & grip) but opted for Orochi due to the wireless feature. well, been reading alot about Razer's bad build quality lately. do hope i won't see the rubber peeling off and the buttons malfunctioning after 6 months or this will be my first and last ever Razer. rolleyes.gif

there's no need for an Alienware mousepad. a 50 bucks Steelseries QcK or a Razer Kabuto is good enough. smile.gif

p/s: speaking about AW's mousepad, probably it's a modded version from an OEM as well? just like the TactX mouse is a modded version of the Logitech G9x.

and the M11x new toy:
