QUOTE(Eugene91 @ Feb 20 2010, 08:37 AM) Now some people are saying using 3rd party OC tools will void warranty.. i already conform this matter and if damage due to OCing is detected, your warranty will be void.So the one given by Dell/Alienware in the BIOS should be better to use lol.. feel free to reconfirming with SA |

QUOTE(Eugene91 @ Feb 20 2010, 08:58 AM) Would u keep ur RM473 to OC with the default 1 year Complete Cover? hehehe.. haha.Or break ur M11x when theres a M11x-R2 on sight haha based on my experience, this OCing stuff is only eager to be done once you get your laptop. maybe lasting for new first months. after a few month, people not interested in OCing anymore and just use the default clock already. maybe they already know their laptop's capabilities or scared anything bad happend. the bolded part is my reason |

1. do i NEED 3 years complete cover, just in case something happen, or 1 year is enuf alredi? and what kind of cover does it provide, cant seem to find the link to the explanation.
>if you have an extra budget, go for it. it is advisable since if you just choose 1 year and want to extend later, it gonna cost you bomb! 2. for malaysian M11x, does it have the simcard slot (in IGN video, its shows as available as an option) >i dont think so because there is no rumor at all regarding to this matter. 3. usually how long will it be shipped from day of order, and when shld we pay for the laptop, izzit when stuff arrive or counted frm day of order? >depending on the status of hardwares availibility. if there is no shortage at all, 10 days or 2 weeks is the most common period to reach your doorstep. 3. im planning to buy the rm3599 and upgrade the processor n not the hdd. shuld i, or its not worth the price increase? i know its cheap only but does it net a big increase in performance? >it worth it, my friend. really worth sorry long question... i think this is the best place to ask as its regarding alienware stuff. tyvm in advance... > no problem at all |

QUOTE(stringfellow @ Feb 20 2010, 08:53 PM) Like I said before, the Alienware of the now, is not the Alienware of the old. The old Alienware are more PC-gamer-centric focused, they are made by gamers , for the gamers. They "built is as if it was their own". Now, once gobbled up by Dell, it is all about mass-producing these laptops, and somewhere along the line the Quality Control is no longer as per what it was once before. A lot of frustration has mounted from old Alienware users like me, when we see how they have devolved into just another PC manufacturer. The whole process from designing and speccing the next laptop is probably still Alienware's, but once it steps into the production floor, Dell takes over, and that's where the quality drops. You can't expect them to maintain QC when they are manufacturing thousands of laptops in a day. The days of "build it as if it was their own" are gone when they were bought away by Dell. agreed.this clearly can be seen once Dell taken over Alienware. |
