share the WC3 folder in windows..
then in linux.. smbmount //machine/share /mnt/mountpoint -o username=$username,password=$password
We use smbmount to mount the network share into mountpoint and when you access the mountpoint, all the files on the shared folder will be visible.
Cheers.

If the share folder on the windows machine need a username and password to access it, for eg, the username is abc and password is 123, then we put the command like this
smbmount //machine/share /mnt/mountpoint -o username=abc,password=123
We need to run it as root, I believe. su yourself first. I hope it helps.
Cheers.

QUOTE(stockish @ Mar 10 2005, 11:02 AM) first of all .. for better understanding of samba, i would advice u to install webmin 1st, normally just use command "service smb start" then ur samba will start? or make sure ur samba start automatically at boot up , use command "ntsysv" just check samba then ur samba will boot up automatically next restart. after ur samba start, use webmin to configure it to be the way u want, it is all about user, file and permission over samba. pls google the web to search more info about samba and to understand smb.conf
