I just bought a condo in Ampang area, and is currently looking to do some renovations. This is my first property so I would like to ask the average prices for the renovations that I am planning to do and if there are any good contractors that anyone can recommend me. FYI, the unit is roughly 1000sf in size. Below is the list of renovations that I am planning to do:

Removal of kitchen wall and installing windows at the yard area
installing of electrical appliances (fans, lights, aircond, hot shower, etc)
hacking and installation of new power points
Plaster ceiling for hall area
laminated flooring for the whole unit

Any advice or feedback given is much appreciated since I am quite inexperienced at this.

hi there, we just finished renovating our house. a chinese contractor quoted us RM38k to do the following :

1) build extended wet kitchen (inclusive of tiles etc)
2) build a full brick wall (corner house) that will replace the default fencing
3) build plaster ceilings for downstairs only

we found an indonesian contractor who has now (completed) charged us RM19k only.

In addition to the above mentioned works, this contractor includes :

1) leveling the entrance of the house and turn it to pebble wash
2) paint the entire interior of the house
3) bathroom fixtures installation / modification
4) adding a fibre glass roof at the back (for protecting our clothes hanger from the rain but still gets the sun etc)


we observed them day in and day out (monitored them) and let's just say the quality of their work is very good

For renovation work like plaster ceiling/piping/wiring/extend kitchen, you can call tay at 017-652 7612.

For carpentary work like kitchen cabinet/wardrobe/tv console, you can call Keong at 019-222 5321.

They renovate my house before, the price is reasonable and workmanship is good. There is no hidden cost when they quote me.

hey, speaking of house renovation, anyone has a template or excell sheet with all the renovations........i need to have an idea on how much do i need for renovations....

what will a
1) 20k budget
2) 30k budget
3) 40k budget

what can be done later on after we move in...since ive short of funds, so need to consider priorities

-> landscape, garden, what else
