There is no installation required for ThumbGen app. Extract the .exe inside a new folder and run it. It will create required subfolders/files and u are ready to go. To be up-to-date make sure you click from time to time on "Check for updates".
If it bombs during startup it is 99% due to missing correct .NET version. I don't want to have an installer; it is much simpler and nicer to deploy the exe that is not touching your system (no registry keys, no extra files installed in windows, etc). When u want to get rid of ThumbGen u simply delete its folder and it is history
