Hi all,

Just to ask, regards to ps3 problems.

Recently, while playing or watching movies via ps3, my screen will go black for few seconds and resumed back to normal. The ps3 is working fine, whereas the games continue as usual,... kinda strange. It happens quite often now...

Any idea what`s the reason? Hdmi cable? Overheat? Or ps3 updates??

Thanx

ok. there are three possibilities.

1. most popular [busted HDMI cable]
try to switch to another cable. usually this is the problem.

2. going to be busted HDMI port for TV or PS3.
try on another tv or test the cable on another PS3.

3 . electricity being sucked on another home appliance. (happened to my friend.)
ok, as we know, appliance such as refrigerators suck a huge amount of our power. sometimes, it goes to 'sleep' mode because the temperature inside it is already cold. once needed, the machine will auto kick back to suck up the electricity (listen to its humming sound) my friend had the same problem, so I went to his house to check what happened. i noticed once the thing sucks the electricity, the ps3's display will be affected (the lcd turns blank but game or video stays normal) no other choice, either you move house OR dedicate a plug (usually PS3 on power sharing with other appliance is affected ) solely for PS3. i referred this case to one of my colleagues here and he said its actually a good thing, means the ps3 is well aware of the surge thus its adjusting itself to the new electricity priority, hence the intermittent lost of display.

This is the first time it is happening. I've been using the same modem router (Linksys WAG120N) since early this year and had no issues with PSN online gaming (wireless connection).

If its not PSN server down, I'm quite sure its my screamyx connection issue. Every time i attempt to log in, the error reads "connection timed out". This also occur when i'm surfing via notebook. Some websites unable to load because of the "connection timed out" issue. Eg. lowyat.net sweat.gif

I made a call to TM helpline. The CS person told me there's no service interruption at my area. Only can prompt me to troubleshoot, but everything turns out ok..

*sigh*

And Sony will not have any problems to ban the MAC address or PSN accounts. Online gaming is free on PSN. whistling.gif
