QUOTE(ThienWu @ Mar 7 2010, 11:33 AM) bedding-in now, will report back after 200km travel... Brake Pads cost RM115, Disc Rotor various prices in different places, i got mine for EA Autoworks, give Drex Chan a call to enquire. QUOTE(pearjar @ Mar 7 2010, 11:34 AM) at first thought wanna change back stock disc rotor, but Original Proton disc rotor not cheap at all, so direct go for this 'looking good' disc rotor lor before install, Drex Chan already explain it won't shorter your brake distance, but it helps on number of times braking... example: Stock disc rotor = 10times braking continuously before overheated/brake fade, IMP Slot/Drill disc rotor = 15 or more braking continuously before overheated/brake fade. Better brake pads still a main important thing to stop your car... QUOTE(yngwie @ Mar 7 2010, 01:33 PM) nice cross drilled / slotted brake there. you've got the right combination of bendix metal king and cross drilled Yeah, i was intially using the same combination too but sold it to a friend and upgrade to twin pots caliper taken from evo and a larger disc for improved stopping distance. before that i have consider Evo3 Twin pots + disc rotor, but fren of mine told me Evo3 Twin pots is too much for me, (my car WHP not even touch 120BHP or Turbo mah... furthermore next time change brake pads sure cry... QUOTE(VerM @ Mar 7 2010, 04:19 PM) Yes, front pair only. send Drex Chan a PM to inquiry your best price. QUOTE(jolipoli81 @ Mar 7 2010, 04:21 PM) send Drex Chan a PM to inquiry your best price. QUOTE(singchaii @ Mar 7 2010, 09:52 PM) Why don't direct go for Adjustable? QUOTE(coz4u @ Mar 8 2010, 12:23 AM) I seriously advised to change the whole absorber to sustec. its good and cheap if I'm not mistaken sus.tec adjustable absorber is not serviceable type... QUOTE(WhitE LighteR @ Mar 8 2010, 12:28 AM) how much is original disc rotor? for Gen2 original Proton disc rotor is RM195/pc... i was aiming for that brambo max coz its slotted only. Ive hear quite a few scarry story abt drilled rotor pecah... no diff wit wut ahpaul got... the disc he got is around that price also... abt 450 the last i checked for one pair.... i guess those drilled rotor pecah is due to owner DIY cause. What I'm hear from Drex Chan said is IMP disc rotor is designed and engineered to comply with all major OEM standards. QUOTE(fazron80 @ Mar 8 2010, 12:29 AM) SC also told me it's time to change the brake pads. That was on my 50K service. Now surveying for aftermarket pads since OEM bosch pads price quoted was like potong leher kaw kaw. check with Mudah.com, Bosch Front + Rear brake pads is RM130 only. here: Front Rear QUOTE(mrl @ Mar 8 2010, 12:51 AM) yup... some did said the SC they go quoted up until 300++.... which i think is quite too much... the SC that I go quote me 60++ (not sure if one piece only or one pair??? how do people usually sell it??? one pair rite??) but i think that's without installation... usually brake pads are come in pair. front left pair + front right pair. same goes to rear brake pads. QUOTE(WhitE LighteR @ Mar 8 2010, 02:33 AM) actually all those oem hi/lo adjustable are not serviceable, be it sus.tec, imp, mines etc.... the only serviceable hi/lo i think is gab. so after ur adjustable abs koyak u still need to change back to the normal type abs. i nvr hear ppl sell adjustable abs only without the spring.... so in the end its not really worth getting if the abs is not serviceable. After 250km travel, so even oem disc is already 390. might as well get slotted. plz update us on the pad wear. i heard from my fren who used to use slotted disc on city, tht the pad wear very fast. so he changed back to normal disc rotor. my brake pads become very good, love the feeling so much~ Regarding the brake dust, still monitoring... QUOTE(mrl @ Mar 8 2010, 08:52 AM) i guess it is DIY issue... you get an OEM disc and cross drilled it... for sure it'll crack... the materials is designed to withstand high heats while they're in solid piece... when you cross drilled, the material will fatigue, combine with high heats and high speed will accelerate the cracking proces.... Yes, exactly what i thought. if the disc is already manufactured cross drilled, should be ok... unless it's an imitation or the brand is no good... QUOTE(R.Y.D.E.C.K @ Mar 8 2010, 09:45 AM) u can check ur brake pad..mine just change it for the 1st time..after 70k km.. woot, your brake pads can last till 70k km only change? thts about almost RM500++..pair... You must be cursing highway a lot then? Paying extra is for the brand name lor QUOTE(dARKaNGEl @ Mar 8 2010, 12:03 PM) slotted & cross drilled disc rotor Max-Tech brand, http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?act=ST&f=113&t=973374 cross drilled disc rotor is good for heat dissipation while slotted is best in giving best stopping power. slotted rotors also wear out brake pads very fast. so it's advisable to get ceramic brake pads. you can read more about it here http://auto.howstuffworks.com/auto-parts/b...rake-rotors.htm so far i only see IMP and Max-Tech brand selling in forum.. Added on March 9, 2010, 1:25 amHey guys, i just remember brake pads and wiper should be under Wear And Tear parts, hence no warranty on those items right?
