Looks like it is really Fabianski's mistake.

I think wenger expected a DIRECT FREE KICK instead of an indirect one since sol's toe hit the ball back to fabianski unintentionally led to a backpass.
One thing you should know about Indirect FKs: As soon as the ball is touched, it is in play. So, It's fabianski's mistake. This post has been edited by frankiejay: Feb 18 2010, 01:53 PM |

CL title not over yet la. Like City Lead ManU 2-1, but ManU still managed to overcome them. We have 1 away goal advantage. 1-0 we can qualify ady.
EPL we still have hope. 6 points from chelsea only |

Too bad our version of bergkamp is injured all the time. I have high hopes in eduardo, just look at club career statistics. He had only 4 games last season, at least this season he had more games, but now injured again. But i do think we will sign one striker summer, Chamakh. But imagine when RVP, Eduardo are fit. We have abundance of midfield. You know denilson will still get to play. Nasri, Fab, Song, Walcott, Ramsey, Rosicky, Denilson, Diaby.

QUOTE(sakaito @ Feb 18 2010, 07:09 PM) drogba also always injured But at least their injury not long term like RVP, but once they return they start to score a lot. RVP took his time to recover, and had a really great EARLY season...torress too... rooney just hit his form now. before this he is quite average. who? Zlatan? injury prone also. Etoó? same thing. Huntelaar? did u watch how lyon frustrate him? Rooney was known as a wizzkid, but he has yet to reach the level of drogba or torres. Of course, recently his form has caught eyes from all sides. |

QUOTE Yeah, regarding the back-pass law, straight from the book under Law 12- Fouls and Misconduct Indirect Free-Kick An indirect free-kick is awarded to the opposing team if the goalkeeper, inside his own penalty area, commits any of the following four offences 1. controls the ball with his hands for more than six seconds before releasing it from his possession 2. touches the ball again with his hands after he has released it from his possession and before it has touched another player 3. touches the ball with his hands after it has been deliberately kicked to him by a team-mate 4. touches the ball with his hands after he has received it directly from a throw-in taken by a team-mate First, the pass back to the goalkeeper must be with out a doubt deliberate in the eyes of the referee which most of us know Second, the goalkeeper must touch the ball with his hands, again pretty straight forward. The back-pass is only "re-set" if you will is when it touches another player. Take these scenarios. 1. Goalkeeper belongs to RED team, defender on red team DELIBERATELY passes the ball back to his goalkeeper, the goalkeeper traps the ball at his feet for about 10 seconds, does multiple back-flips, does 20 push-ups next to the ball and has a sleep on the turf (the attacking team are losing 20-0). The goalkeeper wants to finish the match so he decides to flick the ball up with his foot and catch the ball to distribute it off to a team-mate. WHISTLE, BACK-PASS, INDIRECT FREE-KICK. I would also possibly considering cautioning the goalkeeper, if not for unsporting behaviour and time wasting in the first instance doing the push-ups etc Smile but most likely for purposely trying to find a loop hole in the laws of the game by flicking the ball up with his foot. 2. Goalkeeper belongs to RED team, defender on red team DELIBERATELY passes the ball back to his goalkeeper, the goalkeeper is asleep but the attacking player is on his toes and looks to place a one-touch shot in the bottom corner of the goal. The attacker just gets a toe to it but is too ****y and it goes straight to the goalkeeper and he picks it up. NO BACK PASS, PLAY ON GOALKEEPER That is how I see it This post has been edited by frankiejay: Feb 19 2010, 03:02 PM |

Here's the law, thats why it can be taken instantly, the referee raised him arm earlier.
QUOTE The ball becomes in play as soon as it is touched, unless the kick was taken from within the kicking team's penalty area, in which case it is in play once it has passed completely out of the penalty area. The referee signals that a free kick is indirect by raising one arm until the ball has been touched a second time or has gone out of play. Do you even think we can afford to sign gourcuff? He's the best player in bordeoux, and lotsa clubs are tracking him. But he could be a good replacement for fab, but i think Wenger would rather use the money and spend it wisely. Nasri to takeover Fabregas' role

QUOTE(Vinci777 @ Feb 20 2010, 03:52 PM) Wrong. AW will keep the money and give it to the board. Wondering where is our money from the sale of Adebayor. Wenger might just put nasri in Fab role or promote Ramsey. Chielleni...kinda hard...must be real expensive, since he's already playing 4 a top italian club..plus he's at peak age Anyhow, i dont see Fab leaving yet. We'll get chamakh for sure but i hope AW can go crazy and get Gigi and Chilli combo from Juve. |

As long as Walcott stays out of injury, get back into a new season and starts performing.
