He is a product of the game. A yellow card is not a deterrent, you could make dozens of dangerous tackles and just have a suspension here and there.

A yellow card should lead to something more harsh, say a 10 minute sending-off. The opposing team would get “power play” as in ice hockey, and develop strategies to exploit that such as pushing fullbacks further-up etc. Having centre backs sent-off would be most damaging and since they would be more cautious making tackles you would presumably be promoting a more attacking game.

qoute from goonertalk.com

i agree ..  this guy has some good point there ..

this is not ice hockey where you can bump and take out opponents. if we have power play, then you'll see a lot of divers too. rclxub.gif

I personally prefer Chamakh than Dzeko...but my all time dream is Pavlyuchenko playing along with his comrade.
*
Pavlyuchenko on fire right now. as i said, he needs his run of games and he'll come thru. Spurs looking very good yesterday. Modric goal was sublime. huhuhu... seems like everyone upping their ante. it'll be an interesting few months for us.

come on u gunners! flex.gif flex.gif

QUOTE(noissimbus @ Mar 1 2010, 11:45 AM)
If we really want him, hopefully it's true and we've got this one out of the way, instead of dragging it til the last minute and eventually him signing for someone else.

An experienced stopgap keeper til Szczesny matures, a talented under-20 right back and an established first choice centre back, and we're set to go for next season~

Meanwhile... we need to win something this season to ensure the key players stay put...  sweat.gif
*
well.. i think we're pretty much ok at Right Back with Sagna and Eboue. We still got some reserves player coming thru also.

established 1st choice CB? and break up Vermy-Gallas partnership? i'm not so sure. I think priority would be to give Gallas and Sol contract extension at least 1 more year and continue to develop partnership for Vermy and Djourou. These 2 will be around for a while.

erm.. that's it. don't really think we need any signings but a keeper could be the priority if almunia continues to underperform.

chamakh on a Bosman would be good though. biggrin.gif

this summer, i'm not really sure who will go. Last season we can almost be sure about Ade and we got surprised by Toure. This year, dunno... who do we sell? rclxub.gif

oh please la.. spare the shawcross redemption.

3 incidents in the last 3 years... 1) he broke jeffers ankle. 2) he tackle adebayor off the pitch resulting in twisted ankle, keeping ade out for 3 weeks and 3) u seen it last weekend with ramsey.

enough said.. the evidences speak for themselves.

yep... agreed with u ryan. we're climbing up the rich list by self sustaining and prudence spending. Anyway, I hope this won't trigger "we have the money but why don't spend?" rants all over the net.

kudos to the club. now go out and win the EPL!

by selling anderson, owen, obertan, hargreaves & possibly nani & ferdinand.

i was just about to say that. biggrin.gif hehehe... i think Nani and Hargreaves will go. Owen won't be offered extension and maybe they'll cash in on Obertan.

just IMHO.

You wanted to actually say if there's no trophies in the cabinet next few years?

nah... AW won't be around after 2012. I think that's his grand scheme. Exciting arsenal at it's highest point. by then, we should be winning something... at least EPL. smile.gif Wenger will leave us a legacy of good business nature and proves to everyone that you can be successful even without paying over the odds.

yeah... bendtner! more header please... then we could really use sagna's crossing. hehehe..

I think we got 2 choice right now with Sagna and eboue.

1) if we're going fast pace, short passing attacks... then better go with eboue because his positioning, vision, dribbling and passing is better than Sagna. Also, he prefers low crosses than high flying ones.

2) if we're going for route 1, high crosses into the box, then play Sagna la.

also, good news that most of our players coming back without injuries. fingers crossed all will be OK for weekend. News have it that Diaby will be available, as well as Arshavin. icon_rolleyes.gif

i dun think sagna is a good crosser, not even reach to my satisfaction level.

yep.. quite erratic i think but he crosses higher than Eboue though. hehehe.. usually if eboue tries to cross, it's either short or low. tongue.gif

did anyone see this? awesome stuff from Carlos Vela. Really hoping he'll come thru for Arsenal.

http://www.101greatgoals.com/videodisplay/4941097/

watch at 1minute 25sec into the highlight. loved the way he push the defender away, then nutmeg another and finishing just sublime. smile.gif

theo out of WC squad? good for him.

well.. they say that RVP too soft to be a CF. Too predictable and whatnot. but we know he's so much more than that. Please la RVP, have 1 season without major injury. realised your potential!

pundits also question AW when vermaelen was signed.

last year everyone wanted diaby's head on a platter.... this year? we couldn't live without him!

give walcott time. he is still learning. Henry didn't hit his strides until he was 25. Rooney is about the same age now and he seems to be hitting his prime already. Walcott got at least 3 more years to prove himself. Take it easy. Let SWP or Lennon play for all i care.

i'm expecting a reaction from the boys and will be very disappointed if we do not sit on top of the league table after the match against Burnley
*
i wouldn't be disappointed if we were level points and only by goal difference, sitting at 2nd place. smile.gif 3 points is a must. no other way about it.

btw... any news on Arshavin? when la he wanna fulfill his pledge!? 5 goals.. 1 game. haiyer...

Diaby should be back.. so what's your suspect lineup to be?

almunia
-sagna-sol-vermy-clichy
eboue-cesc-diaby
walcott-bendtner-nasri

either walcott gets the start... or rosicky. I fancy walcott with rosicky coming in later in the game. if burnley tries to play thugs, then put in rosicky for walcott. let rosicky and nasri run the show with cesc. wink.gif

oh... i want us to sit on top of the table after our game with Fulham at home. hehehehe whistling.gif
