Guys, is this true that BC2 can be played without DVD inside?...based on an article below:

Battlefield: Bad Company 2 will feature two authentication options--one online and one offline. Players can avoid online activation altogether with the disc check method, which requires the DVD be in their drive when they play but can be done entirely offline.

As disc checks are a nuisance, players can alternatively opt to let SecuROM go online. After authenticating once, the installation will be authenticated and can run offline for a grand next ten thousand days before needing to activate again--over twenty-seven years.

The online method has a ten-installation limit. Copies will automatically de-authenticate upon uninstalling or players can de-authorise PCs manually, though the process requires the PC in question be online. Should players exhaust their ten installations, Kelms says to "contact EA's technical support to get an extra authentication added to your 'pool

You do get rewarded with pins for killstreaks in BC2 but yeah its not as extensive as MW2.

The main reason i bought BC2 ori and not MW2 is because of dedicated servers.

you paid extra to use other courier?  Standard free postage is by Poslaju i think.  I just call home, my brother said mine has already arrived.  Now only 4:30pm....sigh....need another 1 hour to go back from work. 

anyway, EA is bad in planning the initial first update.  They should allow download the patch file as manual patch before the game is released.  This will greatly reduce the sudden surge in bandwidth.  I forsee the situation will become worse once the EU and Steam gamers are getting theirs in the next 2 days and start the updates and sign in. 

Suddenly I am wondering whether EA is purposely staggering the launch date for US/Asia and EU/Steam because they know their server can't handle the traffic flow if all the gamers update and verify their account all at the same time.

Is the MBT server down for now? It appeared at my server tab but latency and player were not shown and i couldn't click the join button.

Yoz, Now currently using Vista.... What if I install the game and use the unlockables cd key.... then if I upgrade to Win7, will i still be able to use the unlockables once i reinstall the game?
