Hi guys, just wanna share about this IRIX123 ip cctv camera that I just bought yesterday..hehe. Got it for my home. Well, you know it’s not so safe nowadays. I got 2 of these cameras for RM1588. I thought it was a pretty good deal!

Well, came back home and tried fixing it up immediately. Followed a few steps they had in the manual and walla…..it is up in less than 10 mins or so. Pretty simple for a cctv. Anyways, I basically connected the camera to the power outlet and to my router and then went to access it on the IRIX123 webpage. First, I had to register myself and my camera on their website and then I can start viewing it already. Tada..that’s all. The image of the camera is quite clear…well, enough to see the objects. In the webpage itself, I was able to move the camera’s image to the left & right and also up & down.

Well I guess for more functions, I have to install the software but my hands are full right now.

Will update u guys later…chiow…

So I manage to get some time to install the software (IRIX Central) on my laptop brows.gif In this IRIX Central, you can view multiple cameras at the same time in the software. There are also the same controls from the website here (moving the camera up/down and right/left). Option to activate motion detection is also there to record only when something moves.

Below are some of the settings that I am able to control from the software.

This camera is able to work wireless and you can view the camera's video on a phone that supports 3G/Wi-FI. Well, I have not tried that so can’t comment on it sad.gif

The IRIX Central has too much features for me to mention it all here tongue.gif Although, another thing worth mentioning is that this camera actually comes with a Micro-SD card slot at the side of it. So I can just set it to do recordings there and not on my computer smile.gif I got the memory card free thumbup.gif hehe

Any of you guys have tried the IRIX123?

I checked out the IRIX123 camera at one of their promo events. It is really very easy to connect the camera to the internet. No need to do those mumbo jumbo settings on the router and modem that can cause me sleepless nights. It is really plug and play. I also checked out Sensonic, not bad too but it is lacking in a few stuff and can be a real hassle to connect it to the internet. Well these are just my opinions.

isn't it scary? i mean, anyone can hack to your account (or even the admin themselves) and take a peek at your cctv

and to think that you're making out with your gf / mistress at that time...

anyhow, i'm looking for a IP based cctv for some projects of mine. preferably wi-fi based so i dun have to do any unnecessary cabling, other than the power line

What about DLINK IP Camera? Are they better than this IRIX from green packet?

Added on March 30, 2010, 3:04 pmIf I don't want to register in IRIX website and go thru my own router DDNS or port forwarding, did IRIX123 works? Just want to keep some privacy on my own.

wah, i guess the only way to be really safe is to always change ur password 4 ur camera and ur account...the reseller assured me that its a secured site so no need to worry about hacking n stuff like tat

Can you provide the pricing for comparison?

Added on August 31, 2011, 3:22 pmI have 2 units of IRIX 123. Was bought over by the simplicity of setting it up, but now regret.

Here are a few problems associated with it.
1) Lack of GreenPacket support. This IP cam is actually an OEM product from Taiwan, but is not very well supported. Such as poor firmware. Poor s/w support.
2) Unable to view from Windows Mobile and Android (for Android, just need to use other similar s/w from the OEM). Anyway, does not work.
