Questions to those who has gotten their car. Silly question to some but I just need to find out.
U are in the car with the remote in your pocket. Car is locked. Can your car still be opened from outside since it is within the range of the remote? Or the car is smart enough to detect once the key is inside , no one can open from outside? Or is it once we press the central locking from inside, everything is secured? Thanks . QUOTE(4te @ Feb 10 2010, 10:59 PM) once the car is locked from the inside , ie pressing the central locking button, and the key remains inside the car, the door cannot be opened from outside. Not to worry about any security loop hole of the smart key cos there is none Added on February 10, 2010, 11:52 pm QUOTE(ggeatweb @ Feb 10 2010, 11:31 PM) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V2AiitnVj5ICar leaves you speechless, driver leaves me breathless This post has been edited by sweetpea123: Feb 10 2010, 11:53 PM |

QUOTE(RoyBlue @ Feb 11 2010, 09:19 PM) Got news today.... The nightmare almost over... at least for now. Got Titanium , I got chassis no. already. But my dealer only resumes work on the 22nd, so have to wait Wed/Thurs to get my hands on my baby. Drive safely everyone !Got my Chassis & Engine Number today! Paid my DP & Full... in less than 1 hour... I got my VSO. Prior to that, she told me another bad news... Titanium Silver SX... don't have stock... that kinda BS. Only got Bright Silver & Black... if want fast choose either if not have to wait till March or dunno when. I chose Bright Silver after giving a nice tongue lashing to my SA. Confirmed can get car by Thursday next week but I'll only collect car on Friday. Lesson learnt : NA** is full of useless people who overpromise stuff just to get sales. Too many procedures... it makes the experience of getting a car totally terrible for those of you who buy car for the first time. Will update you guys regularly should there be anymore "changes". To all fellow Forte-ians... Gong Xi Fatt Chai!!! Drive safely and enjoy the holidays. |

QUOTE(kumyih @ Feb 22 2010, 03:18 PM) hi all SX, Does it affect the car in any way whether it is method 1 or 2 ? Brake , then start will harm the car ?? Why leh? Sorry for being ignorant do you press 2 times 'start' and follow by break + 'start' ? or just 'break + start' to start your babie... This post has been edited by sweetpea123: Feb 22 2010, 04:36 PM |

finally my car arrived at the showroom & SA asked me to pay up. And I get a better rate from diff bank as well. At least I get to save a couple of hundreds for getting the car AFTER CNY. (yeah, self-consolation there...hahah).
Read about all the horrible SAs out there but I have to give mine credit. Never fails to answer and return my calls. There is nothing I hate more than SAs ignoring calls. So there, now I have something to look forward to after the long holidays. Hopefully everything will be smooth sailing |

It's unfortunate that some of you are planning to cancel 2.0 booking. I am NOT saying that cos I have already got my 1.6. I am all thumbs up for the 1.6SX and I am sure 2.0 will be better and definitely worth the wait. Took my car for a short outstation drive this weekend and it did leave me speechless (in a good way)
I was tinting my car last Friday and this guy really 'raped' my car with his eyes. I purposely left the car door open when I started the car. ..(look Ma, no keys !!) He drove a Dugong. He must really have slapped himself hard after I left.. hahahhhah |

Is it me only or is the steering a tad too heavy for some of you?

Agree with being 'strict' with the kids. No kids are born 'spoilt'. It's their parents who failed.
BTW, when my car is in "D" on a slope , it tends to slide backwards when I lift my foot off the brake. All my other previous cars stays almost stationary when in "D" on a slope. Is there a reason for this or is it a defect on my car ? I got a fright last night. Luckily the car behind me wasn't that near. |

same with me. its different from others auto car that i drove before. it tends to slide backwards on the same spot. maybe its because of the RPM during idle that is tuned low? i dunno.
wonder if they can tune it higher during servicing ? It's kind of dangerous in my opinion. Just not quite used to it yet. I'll make a mental note NOT to follow a Forte too closely on a slope. |

QUOTE(ching4ever @ Mar 2 2010, 11:11 AM) It is always not a good practice to leave the brake off when you on a slope. No matter what car you driving, it is a good practice to step on the brake at all time when you stopping at a slope. You won't know whether the car will move forward or backward, if power good enough, it will still move forward, not enough then fall backward. Somehow I think maybe because the car is too heavy. |

QUOTE(StarGhazzer @ Mar 2 2010, 11:28 AM) 2.4 is only available in North America. All automatic Fortes come with shifttronic/sportmatic/tiptronic mode, they are the same regardless of the name. I shall check out the RPM later. Didn't wait long enough to see if the engine will correct itself. Will try that out later on a slope with no car behind . BTW I checked the Start/Stop button today while driving and engine didn't stop after 1 push, only stop after 2 pushes. Most automatic cars tend to give the feeling of sliding backwards on a slope when the brakes are released, and usually it will take a split second before the engine corrects itself and holds the car stationary. If your car truly slides backwards you might want to check the RPM. Mine's usually at 700-800rpm at rest. |

haha damn laa... now my heart very pain because of the paint...
I have a tiny scratch too, the worker at the dealer gave my baby a chip while using a screwdriver to take out the Naza emblem. I touch it up with clear nail polish to prevent rust. Hopefully it helps. |
