Bro, no worries ... the forum wont die ... these few days everyone busy with CNY activities and long holidays ma, so expected to have little activities here  nod.gif

I think after people getting their cars, they will have more to share on FC, any potential issues, and needless to say MODS!!! biggrin.gif ... In order to really enjoy my Forte, i am doing one mod at a time ... slowly and enjoy the process ... just to share with you guys my mods in the pipeline for the next 6 months:

1. Sharkfin Antenna
2. Change SX emblem to SLi emblem to complete my exterior mod to original Korean version
3. DIY front door courtesy light
4. Apply 303 Aerospace Protectant on the dashboard, 3rd break light panel, head and tail lights, bumpers (grey plastic area), the rubber trim for windows and doors and lastly the tires & rims.
5. K&N Air Filter

Unfortunately only limited to Klang Valley. Outstation/other states may need to find alternatives.

i) My FC is around 9-10L/100KM for 90% jam or city drive and 10% highway. A lot in KL is getting 8.5 to 9L/KM.
ii) Spare part should be around the same price as city and not more expensive than civic ... but no one actually knows as the car is still under warranty and none break down yet (touch wood )
iii) Resale value ... you can get a 2 months old 1.6SX for RM60k  ... hahaha just kidding ... i dont think the resale value will not be as bad as Spectra and at this point of time, no one knows as there is no Forte in the 2nd hand car market.
iV) Go to the highly recommended SC by the members here and you should be fine.
v) No discount so far, but depending on SA and dealer ... some get free full tank, door visors, emblems, car mat or etc. As for my case got free emblem only.

just went to kia showroom at klang....heard from SA said that the car can take within 2 weeks....is it true...
according to him, 2.0 coming middle of march...
first time see the car closely.....nice and thumb up!!!!!

Just back to PJ home after traveling back to hometown, Sepang this morning.
Total mileage calculated after morning full tank pump (BHP ron95)= 160km
Average show at PJ home 7.2l/100km with average speed 90km (50% national road) & 110km (50% KLIA highway)
Fuel consumption is good = Meter show fuel use 1.5 bar of 8 bars

Just would like to share the experience using Forte ABS during drive back to PJ home.
During I driving on Sepang national road without road light around 10:20PM on 28/2, I suddenly saw 1 black cow at roadside and I immediately slow down my Forte from 100km/h to 80km/h and at the same time found that 1 black cow lying down on middle of the road in front of my forte estimate 4m, I really shock and immediately hard press brake and turn my sterling to left into roadside to pass by the cow. I can felt the BD & ABS and other safety features response to make my forte continue move forward and by pass the cow by smooth turn left and turn right back. My wife immediately complaint me for the driving because at that time she hold my 15mths son who standing for view the road side. I am so worry and quickly stop at road side and check my family and my forte too. Lucky everything is OK; I noticed there are 1 Waja stop nearby and found the Waja is the car hit the cow and the Waja's front left corner and bonnet was damaged. I believe the cow may died for the accident and I really sad for this and quickly go inside car and continue drive back to PJ home.

I must thanks the cow at road side for the alert and Forte's safety features to avoid any damage to my passengers and vehicle. Now, I more confident to drive my Forte anywhere and anytime!!!

As parents, we must be FIRM in handling of children....

first of all, all kids sits at the back, no exceptions.......mine only are allowed to sit in front when they are in their teens.........

mum will usually sit at the back with them when they are small..........

for small toddlers, say up to 3 years old, they sit in baby chair strapped in.......mum can interact with them, or suitable toys be given to them to play during journeys........

after that, use booster seats and the car's normal seat belts.........after about 3, they will be able to learn car ride means the back strapped in.........again give them some toys, or better still, books to read..........

the usual mistake parents make is to give in to them........they cry, and one or both parents will manja them, and give in........bring them to the front, let them sit of the lap, or stand looking out the window, etc........guess what's the lesson they learn.........?

i have 3 kids.........no problems........they learn very early they cannot manipulate you by crying and throwing tantrums.....punish them if necessary......yea, cane or spank them.........but always be clear the REASON for the punishment..........

again.........firmness and consistency is the key...........
