maybe its because of the RPM during idle that is tuned low? i dunno.

Same here, never think of changing it now, the price doesn't seem worth for one logo, rather use the money for other things to improve performance, etc. Maybe in the future got extra money will think about it.

wonder if they can tune it higher during servicing ? It's kind of dangerous in my opinion. Just not quite used to it yet. I'll make a mental note NOT to follow a Forte too closely on a slope.

It is always not a good practice to leave the brake off when you on a slope. No matter what car you driving, it is a good practice to step on the brake at all time when you stopping at a slope. You won't know whether the car will move forward or backward, if power good enough, it will still move forward, not enough then fall backward. Somehow I think maybe because the car is too heavy.
