isn't it the same with Shiftronic? only the term is different. In SG, they call it Sportronic

Added on March 2, 2010, 10:53 am

not necessary, i also still naza. hahaha. only now want to change.
same with me. its different from others auto car that i drove before. it tends to slide backwards on the same spot.
maybe its because of the RPM during idle that is tuned low? i dunno. tongue.gif biggrin.gif
*

[/quote]

Same here, never think of changing it now, the price doesn't seem worth for one logo, rather use the money for other things to improve performance, etc. Maybe in the future got extra money will think about it.

wonder if they can tune it higher during servicing ? It's kind of dangerous in my opinion. Just not quite used to it yet. I'll make a mental note NOT to follow a Forte too closely on a slope.

It is always not a good practice to leave the brake off when you on a slope. No matter what car you driving, it is a good practice to step on the brake at all time when you stopping at a slope. You won't know whether the car will move forward or backward, if power good enough, it will still move forward, not enough then fall backward. Somehow I think maybe because the car is too heavy.

I DO step on the brake all the time, It's just that I have to be really fast to step on the pedal when I am about to move forward.  tongue.gif Imagine if someone parks on a slope and the front and back car is abt 1 ft in distance from the Forte.  sweat.gif
*
LOL, in that case, use our JPJ learned method, hand brake + accelerator + let go and go forward. tongue.gif

TECHNICAL UPDATE:

user posted image

1. Forte comes with anti-roll bars front & back. Pls to not add 3rd-party anti-roll behind you will end up overteer if too hard.
2. See the patented link its a recent patent yr 2004 only by Hyundai/Kia actual Korean patent. (thumbs up)
3. Very sad the spray undercarriage but some parts not covered??? why ler???
user posted image

1. Why you feel hot at center console ? cause only found 1 pc heat-shield & seems to be missing 2nd pc.
2. We have 2 Oxygen Sensors so pls take care also removing Cat-con will cause engine red-light warning error.
Just a note our car is very well balanced no understeer or oversteer so best to keep it that way.
*
Nice sharing.

Just wondering anyone book their car from Kia Seremban? They got an offer, body kit and bars total for RM4500 add-on, 3 bars if not mistaken and one of them is anti-roll, if our car already comes with it, those who get the original body kit need to aware about this, don't add extra anti-roll bar.

Most of the western people service their own car, because service center too far away and car service charge damn expensive, they known better on car and their complain get treated well by the company. Here? Most people just drive, never service, accident, your fault, complain = nothing.

I'm so suprise that Honda still dare to increase their price after a recall impact on their reputation. Wonder will Toyota increase their price? My heard said he saw Toyota give a lot of promotion nowadays, discount, free gift, etc.

Same here undecided on the tinting but not as hot with stock UV glass.
Phelix & Jimmy, would like to know your FC & max speed too:)

Others, be careful with hard break-in as need to know both pros/cons.

Hard breakin from motoman just possibly gives more power/higher max speed to the new engine. With new engines we could just be lucky but also could be one of those that has very big engine particles grinding. If you read all his articles, they will change their oil ASAP even at 100miles (not 1000km) and a few times more to flush out all the metal bits.. IF you're willing to do that.. maybe...

Don't forget his experiments are ALL motocycle engines for racing which don't need to last years like we'll want our cars to.

Of course, the other would be all the while we drive carefully, the person who delivers your car would've rev it to 5-6000rpm before delivering to you:) Mine came with 40km mileage.. ie. after they engaged the odo..
What about others??
*
I don't let them to deliver my car, never! Because my friend used to helped deliver the car to the shop so the customer can collect from there, they really rev it high, sometimes even goes up to top speed if location allowed. I go the service center collect myself all the times, mileage normally less than 3km.

hmm.gif mind hovering @ 10.x l/100km lehhhh but i dont drive gently larrrr, maybe also because of the mileage just around 2k++ only
now full tank RM90 can get around 450KM only lol tongue.gif I wonder is it good enough or still can be better
my FC hovering @ 10+ l/100km, mostly driving on highway (puchong to cyberjaya) but I believe my driving style also affect the FC lerrrr
maybe future will have improvement on that.
Max speed I tried with 5 person in the car including me with full luggage, 180km/h... can go further i think if not many ppl onboard
*
It can be better. I manage to get lowest 7.x l/100km, now haven't finish a full tank, still got 2 bars left but already over 470km, full tank for RM78 (ron95, shell), will try full tank petronas ron95 next week.

as far as i know hard break-in only effective for the 1st 200km..
its pretty much useless if u apply after that..
correct me if i'm wrong..
nway book my forte EX yesterday with free bodykit n 15" sportrim..
but only drawback is my interest is 3.3 for 9 years..
how do u guys think?
*
Not good, previously got another person share 3.0 interest for 9 years. I only manage to get 2.92 for 5 years, but fast get car, doesn't matter.

allic, Install alarm may void warranty as need rewiring. Some say SC does it.

phelix & jimmy: I'm also heavy footed so FC not good from 11-12l/100.. Though not following hard break-in, sometimes rev from stop till realized 4K+ due to forgot in "manual".. Also purely local driving with traffic jam so a bit hard to achieve those 7-8l/100..

ching4ever: Congrats.. Your low FC is it "helped" by lots of highways driving??

KFC: Great looks man the red wheel stickers.. BTW, someone give some mini write-up on tonights TT at Raydiance.. Since started researching forums, lots of comments that carwash are the main reason for swirls in paint.. So, assume those at Raydiance will take better care of our fortes:)

PPS/SG/Nano users: I know it's definitely looks great & contaminants easy to wash off. Please comment if your protection prevents swirls or watermarks? Is it true, you must NEVER polish or even wax it right as may clean the protection away, just car washing. Would appreciate some actual users comment satisfied or not as evaluating as currently DIY....
*
Nope, I use old road most of the times, speed can vary from 40-120km/h, depends on the road condition and whether there is cars blocking. Need to rev to cut some slow cars/lorry/bus almost everyday when I go to work and back.

I'm curious because they never offer me the mineral package but straight away gave me the syntium package. I didn't know it until I checked the website just now. I used to semi-syntium 800 for every 5k, now full-syn every 10k, consider ok to me.

of course full-syn is better but if i don't travel a lot, expect me to change every 6 months?
poket koyak wooo...
hahaha bro kfc... that one has been expected by me 12 years ago when the 1st time i bought a car and has decided to void the warranty asap...
*
No matter what type of oil you using, you still need to service the car on time even though before you reach the mileage. Mineral, 5k mileage or 3 months; full syn, 10k mileage or 6 months. So by the end, you probably need pay almost the same price to service the car.

I think he doesn't care about the duration either, he service based on mileage even though duration over if I'm not mistaken what he posted previously, "service every 5k with mineral, every 6 months waste money"

i'm agreed if you service u car follow duration... then choosing between mineral or full-syn doesn't save much a lot...
but is it something not right if u don't use car very often & follow service base on duration... it'll waste money...

hahaha ok ok what to do... i work at KL & i hate jam so bike still my best bargain...
i'm ride a bike since my 1st day i got a work which was 12 years ago...
dunno until when... maybe until my age is 55...
any free wifi there...?  brows.gif
*
It is not a waste of money, in fact that's the recommendation from all the car manufacturing, service your car based on mileage or duration which ever comes first.
Even though you doesn't meet the mileage, it is still recommended to do the service based on duration to ensure your car is in good condition.
I'm not in car manufacturing or whatever but so far I saw plenty of car's manual mentioned about this, there must a reason for this.
Anyway, it is up to your choice to do it or not, I surely won't do that just to save little bit of money and end up my car broke-down during middle of no way. icon_rolleyes.gif

As far as I know, mineral/semi both used for 5k, never see any service centre use semi and advised to come back after 7.5k.

I would say, go for the whatever cars you prefer and affordable. Regardless what brand it is, famous or not famous, it is up to the person. As long as we like our ride, that's it. For those who thinking whether to take the car or not, go do a test drive for all the car you aiming for and make up your own mind, don't listen to others, you are the one who going to buy and use it later. I can say Saga is better than Forte, will you go for Saga?

Hi,
I am a new owner to Forte 1.6SX, after owning the car for one week, I observed the following and not sure whether it should consider normal:
1) Driver seat belt reminder not functioning although there is an indicator on the dashboard. There is no reminder even I did not put on the seat belt
2) Hard to open boot from inside the car
3) Exhaust sound is a bit load (like boop-boop-boop) when idle
4) No gear shift lock button.
5) Electronic Chromic Mirror feature functioning once in a while
Has anybody experience the above or its common to Forte. Kindly share your views.... Tks smile.gif
*
1) Normal
2) Need to report, mine is not the boot but the door to pump oil, need to pull many times only open, forgot to report SC for that, need to go this weekend
3) No such issue
4) Normal
5) Only when the sensor detected the lights, make sure it is turned on, and sensor doesn't block by anything
