i c.. me oso experience such prob too.. tiba-tiba change to outdoor air intake when following a garbage truck.. pengsan rclxub.gif
bsides, i oso experience the 3rd minus point which is a little out of my expectation.
when cornering, if the road is gd & smooth, then it's stable.
if the road ada lubang or swollen part, the car feel like wana fly to one side..
my tyre pressure is 32psi. Any idea??

one more thg, when climbing the hill, even i habis press the pedal, my forte still remain around 3k rpm.
is it normal for the auto mode unless v change to manual mode? or it's my forte prob only?
going to send my car for service tis sat. so if got any prob gona tell them to fix.. (selayang sc ok?)
(finali pass the 1000 mileage.. tat's y now enjoying rev my forte..hahaha!)

by the way, just found out one unbelievable thg yesterday.
b4 1k mileage i only run around 60 - 110 km/h, fc around 8 - 8.6 l/100km
yesterday rev around 90 - 120 km/h, fc goes 7.4 - 7.6 l/100km

OMG.. our forte will only drink LITTLE if v run FASTER... thumbup.gif

Honestly, I plan to do so. change mineral oil at 200km after hard break in. 100 miles almost 161km.
Then change again on 1000km with fully synthetic.

after that, go for dino test, maybe tune ECU. K&N filter, tinting, iridium spark plug, etc etc. tongue.gif

me too at first thinking to change mineral oil as suggested in some reviews...
however u better check which SC will allow u to do so cos i got a very bad exp as the sc i visited last time left me no choice but only full syn oil. he said forte can only use full syn oil... somemore fixed choice petronas syntium 3000, can not opt for 5000.. speechless...

My FC is not as low as expected... 8L/100km on RON91 mainly highway.
I don't feel the need to push the car hard as it sips a lot of fuel, makes a lot of noise, and kills the brakes quicker whenever you need to slow down at traffic lights. On the highways it's easy to be agitated whenever those buggers tailgate you when you're driving within the limits; more often than not it's those 4L V8 Falcons/Commodores. Cannot cabar them otherwise sure kena smoke. Keep cool and save your $$... not worth racing on the streets.

Are there that many stretches of roads that allow you to shift above 3K rpm? I don't even feel the need to rush so fast... urban streets over here are usually narrow and jampacked.
*
ur fc so high? i use ron95 and oso mainly highway can achiev 6~7 sth L/100km at average 100~120km/hr.
find out tat once u reach certain high speed only slight press will move our forte smooth and fast.
by the way is the meter calculating the fc can b trusted?? shocking.gif
one more thg, everytime when i pump in the fuel, the fc on the meter will suddenly turn so high (more than 10L/100km).. hope it's normal.. sweat.gif

I'm not sure whether RON95 or anything higher would improve FC dramatically, and after calculating the price difference, I don't think it would save me much anyway so I'm sticking to RON91 which is the standard petrol in Australia. Caltex premium is RON98 but costs 20cents more per litre i.e. 10 dollars extra per week for me.

Another reason could be my 2.0 although I'm not sure that has much difference in FC compared to 1.6. There are stories where the FC gradually improves after 5K km so I'll wait to see whether that is true; currently at 3600km.

Personally, I don't really mind whether my FC is 8 or 9L/100km. I don't expect a 2.0 to have the same FC as cars with smaller ccs.

As for the high FC reading on the computer after filling up, that's perfectly normal. It'll drop down to the usual reading after a few km's drive.

i m reali so sorry bro! tot u r using forte 1.6 too!
But WOW!!! "8L/100km" Considered very fuel-saving for a 2.0 car. Mind to let me know wat car r u using?
