perry, can imagine ur frustration dealing with NK... all this while u all 2.0 buyers have been patiently waiting for the car but NK doesn't seem to appreciate one bit... it's a grand launch of both variants, 1.6 AND 2.0 back in Nov 09... now end of Feb 10 also coming dy... not even 1 single 2.0 OTR... N*Z* really screwed up the whole thing man....
*
yupp..they really2 screwed up everything. at the initial stage, they might as well just launch the 1.6 only so that people will only book for 1.6 & then launch the 2.0 when the car is cleared & ready to be delivered. that's the better way. dont just simply launch the car & give us empty promises knowing that the car is not here yet in Malaysia & all the required documentations still not prepared properly. that's gambling u know...

off topic, anyone here sell your old car and face problem due to puspakom? i need to change my saga to my brother's name, puspakom said the tinted not pass, although i got the warranty from the shop and they said will cover everything but is there any other suggestion? need to settle it fast.
*
the fast solution is to 'koyakkan' the car tint film that failed the puspakom's test wink.gif ask the puspakom tester to do that (tear off the tint film)...no other fast way. i did that for both of my previous car tongue.gif

it should be installed on side door glass only right? not on your windscreen. at back depends..
*
IMHO, usually the security tint will slightly blurred your vision especially the high mil (thick) one & may create 'star' at the light source depends on type & brand. I noticed this from my brother's 5 mil security tint. So it is advisable to install just a normal solar tint film for your front windscreen for better vision. & last time my tint installer advise me not to install security tint on all windows including front & rear windscreen due to passenger safety concern. At least leave one of it (i.e front windscreen) installed with the normal solar tint film. His reason was if the car accidentally jump into the river or your car burnt in fire & somehow the passenger are unable to unlock or open the car door, the last desperate option is to smash the car window or windscreen to go out from the car. If we install the security tint film all around..it makes us even harder to smash the car window & maybe almost impossible to smash it by bare hands. Sounds logical right?

Here the SMS trail:

Me: Morning bro, any hope for me?
SA: Yes, not hope, but light. Only that is delayed. Anytime. Once ready will call you. Thanks for your patience.
Me: Means? When can it be ready?
SA: From Gurun its this month. Anytime. No memo yet
Me: today is already end of this month. I mean Feb. Ok, my patience only until end of March.
SA: Ok bro, thanks.

how you interprete it?
*
If this month..it means todaylah right? coz the next 3 days of this month is public holiday. unless..JPJ will open on Saturday as what they did before (before the CNY).

Wondering what is the cause of the delay? & the word "Anytime" sounds not firm enoughlah right..can be anytime from now to infinity..in other words..status quo..aiyaaa

imagine the cars are exposed under sun & rain for 2 months  shocking.gif
*
That's what i'm concerned about. imagine that our car aging there in their stockyard under the hot scorching sun, acid rain, dew & other damaging elements everyday for 2 months & counting. i doubt that our car is as good as a new car should be when we get the car later on. but i remember the words from Naza's Regional Manager said that the cars are parked under the shade..in a covered stockyard. but again i doubt it. If there is any covered stockyard, i think most probably it fulls with their expensive & luxury cars (i.e merc, bmw, audi, lexus etc) & definitely not with our ill-fated cheap Forte

Added on February 26, 2010, 5:39 pmTest drove Sylphy Navi just now & asking about current offering & discounts..a backup plan for a worst case scenario (if i cannot get my 2.0 Forte by March). Planning to test drive Civic 2.0 again tomorrow & Lancer GT later on.

Shocked to find out that at 110km/h, Sylphy only revs at 2000rpm. No wonder the good fuel economy for Sylphy is much talked about. Seriously this car will be in my list to replace the 2.0 Forte

Sylphy using CVT gearbox ma sure good la, same as Lancer GT too.
*
xCVT gearbox to be precise..the 3rd gen CVT from Nissan smile.gif

Anyhow, i also heard that the new Sonata will be brought in by Sime Darby by this April. Maybe tomorrow i will also pay a visit to Hyundai showroom to confirm the news & to get the estimate price. Rather than waiting endlessly for the 2.0 Forte, i better wait for Sonata in April if they price it right. D segment some more & not to mention the stylish design & higher level of sophistication including the 6-speed gearbox + 2.0L, 165ps Theta II CVVT (dual variable valve timing if i'm not mistaken) compared to single variable valve timing in Forte that produces 156ps.

If the news is true & the price is right..i will cancel the 2.0 Forte booking ASAP most probably by next week (coz to get back my downpayment maybe will require 3-4 weeks)..see how my visit to Hyundai showroom tomorrow turns out..hehehe

Naza Kia, please release the car (2.0 Forte) fast..else many 2.0 Forte bookers will end up cancelling their booking soon

last time bro bbear succesfully did that. Naza Kia unable to deliver the car as promised..so IMHO, they have to give back the booking fee & downpayment if customer cancelled their booking

But the dimensions of Sylphy seems funny.
As comparison below :

Forte :------------------------Toyota Altis :--------------Honda City :-----------------------Honda Civic :
Length = 4530mm----------Length = 4540mm--------Length = 4395mm-----------------Length = 4540mm
width    = 1775mm-----------Width  = 1760mm----------Width  = 1715mm------------------Width  = 1755mm
  height  = 1460mm----------height  = 1465mm----------Height  = 1470mm------------------Height = 1435mm

Nissan Sylphy :  Length = 4610mm
                        Width  = 1695mm
                        Height  = 1510mm

Noticed that the width is same as Latio, is short...looks funny.
*
Yalorr..but when i sit in the car..i didn't feel the less width. the only thing that spoils (for me) are the beige interior + no cruise control + the absence of electronic stability control

First of all, sorry TS & other bros here for off topic. This is only a search for alternatives if we (Forte 2.0 bookers) still didn't get our car by March end. cant afford to wait for it without any time indication.

Visited Honda & Hyundai showroom just now.

For Honda..no promotion & no discount whatsoever for the Civic. instead they (Honda Malaysia) will increase the price of 2.0 Civic next month to tally with the new gov excise duty structure.

For Hyundai..straight away met their sales adviser & asking about the new Sonata YF. The facts that i managed to gather are :

1. The first batch of the new Sonata already here in Bolehland.
2. He still cannot disclose the exact price coz no confirmation from their top management yet. but the price of course should be below their competitors price. As what i saw on their price list, the current Sonata 2.0 priced at about RM120k & Sonata 2.4 priced at about RM130k. so IMO, the new Sonata should be priced not far from that..hopefully.
3. The new Sonata already open for booking (RM2000 booking fee & refundable) & the delivery will commence as soon as they finished the official launching of the car in Malaysia
4. Official launching date still not announce yet but it will be around end of March or early April.
5. They will 'soft launch' (or should i say unofficial launch) the new Sonata next week somewhere at Damansara there. We will be able to see the car externally. He (Hyundai Sales Adviser) will call me later when he confirm the date & venue of the 'soft launch'.

Definitely i will go to the 'soft launch' event to see & touch the car next week & snap some pics. After that i will make my decision whether to place a booking & abandoned the 2.0 Forte or not. we will see...

Bro,

How about the warranty? Apply to Sonata like other car, 5 years or 100k km?

I like this - 4. Official launching date still not announce yet but it will be around end of March or early April.

If NAZA doesn't want our business, Hyundai will get them. Just right timingĀ  hmm.gif
*
I forgot to ask about that but as of now all Hyundai cars comes with 5 years warranty. I hope the new Sonata will not miss that.

Yea bro..just right timing. Since that the booking fee is refundable, maybe i will book it next week to secure the first batch delivery in April. I dont think that Sime Darby will spoil us in term of delivery as what Naza Kia did to us. It is a government-linked company after all right? It is better to wait for this car in April rather than waiting endlessly to get the 2.0 Forte
