Hey guys, just wondering. I have a Kettler curved barbell and two sets of dumbbells. Was wondering whether if I buy other brand weights, will they be able to fit in the barbell/dumbbell? Is the hole size standardized, or they differ according to brands. Would appreciate if anyone can help me out in this, cause it'll be really inconvenient to carry a dumbbell out to a shopping center. Hahah.

Just measure the diameter of the bar and remember that figure when you go plate shopping.

Kettler sells the EZ Curl Bar (weighs 8kg).

If I remember correctly it's around RM90-120. 20% off now too.

Try Googling for the nearest one to Bukit Jalil. I know there's one at One Utama.

You are doing that so that you can slam the dumbbells without it making a heck of a noise? Cool idea.

What I do is I usually get TWO of the heavier weight plates (10kg / 5kg plates) rubberised. This is because usually the rubber plates are slightly bigger than the cast iron ones, therefore it makes contact with the ground earlier than the other cast iron ones.

You still prevent the dumbbells from making that horrid noise when you drop it, but still save money.
