Hi All,

Wanna ask about TV mounting Bracket, where can I get the cheapest bracket in KL?

Attached Image

2nd question i wanna ask about speakers placement, the left front speaker is very near to the wall, I am thinking to mount the LCD TV on top of my Dell LCD monitor, and put 1 table instead of 2, so that I will have more space for the Front speaker from side and back wall, any suggestion?

Thanks.

I think in the first place it is a bad idea to put your TV on top of the Dell monitor. Like that, the TV is going to be too high for any comfortable viewing angle. One hour of movie your neck wanna break already. Besides, putting the two LCD together will cause unwanted distraction from each other.

Computer monitor is supposed to be view from very near distance, whereas LCD TV is supposed to be view from a few meters away. Put them together, you want to sit near or sit far? rclxub.gif

If you ask me what is the best placement, I would say move the Dell monitor and both your computer tables away. Leave only the TV in the middle, front speakers at left and right of TV, and the amplifier at the bottom of the TV (either on the floor or a very low TV rack/shelf). Don't use your computer tables near the TV coz the nice look of the TV + Home Theater set get spoiled by the table color. Sub-woofer can put at the corner of the wall (the current spot of your front left speaker now).

Lastly, put your Dell monitor and computer and computer tables in the opposite corner of the room/hall. If you need to connect your computer to the TV, use a really long HDMI cable. brows.gif

For the wall mount, you want to get what type? Fixed angle? Adjustable angle? Full swivel arm control? They are all in different price range. What is your budget? Are you going to DIY or get qualified ppl to install for you?

Thanks Bart-man, actually I will sit near to the computer table, when surfing or play game, and i will lie on my bed if watching movie using LCD TV. So the TV's height actually is ok for me. Now most important is the pair of front speakers, initially I just put it beside the TV as u have suggested (about 3 feets apart), but then I have been told that if the front speakers too close to either other, then I wont get good surround effects. So now i put it about 6 feets apart, but the left front speaker is too near to the side wall, there is a high possibility that the soundstaging is really going to be distorted and skewed. HELP....

Why not you just position your speakers at 45 degree angle like the diagram below? It will solve your soundstaging problem.

By the way, are you sure your neck is comfortable while lying on the bed and watch TV so near the ceiling? If you are still in a sitting position, the best is to place the dead center of the TV as the same height as your eyes.

I just wall mounted my new LCD TV yesterday. I positioned the top edge of the TV at my eye level when I stand up. Now it's perfect for viewing in both sitting and standing positions.
