can anyone elaborate more on the engine oil?
i dont understand it at all...
what 10w/40, 15w/50 and so on and so forth...
also semi-synthetic and also full synthetic...

the most important is that which suits our BLM that uses RON95?

those are the grade and viscosity. im not really good at explaining but i refer to manual book to find which oil grade suits my car and my budget.
and the rest of the oil grade with higher price, i consider premium, which is better like longer service interval, smoother operation etc.
as long as you follow the service interval then its ok, some say oil grade is not that important but how often you service your engine oil that matters.
5k interval is good enough.

i believe ron95 and engine oil is quite unrelated, you can use 95 or 97 no matter what engine oil you use.

my current mileage is 30k++, i use shell helix hx7 10w/40..have been using it since 10k...if im not wrong

some might go for fully synthetic, claiming that it last longer..like 10k service period, but some have doubt the oil filter wont last till 10k..

so i stick to semi synthetic.

thanks for the explanation...
clicked into the site that u've posted and the summary is just a table form and says that hot climate should use 15w/50... hahaha...
but u r using 10w/40 and it is fine... hmmm...

I have just did my 1k Service...
It took about 1 hour to finish from queuing to collect my car...

they asked me to do this and that and i rejected all of them and i asked them just follow what is in the service book...
no extra things needed...
it cost me RM 113.74
Things that cost me:
Shell Helix Plus HX7 - RM99
Oil Filter - RM 12.22
Gasket Plug, Oil Drain - RM 2.52

The engine oil they gave me is 10w40
but the manual says that the car must use 20w50 and the note in the Manual says that:-
"Using engine oil with a lower API classification will void the warranty"

so, this means that the SC that i went has just void my warranty?
or i can just continue driving it with the current oil of 10w40?

sorry that i asked so many questions... this is my 1st new car... i do not know how to take care of a new car...
i only know how to take care of 20 yrs old car... blush.gif

am using that same semi-synth hx7 on my other ride.
which SC you went for? Wakil Proton SC usually using Shell Helix.
as far as i know, PESC is petronas syntium. since it was still semi-synth, should be ok.
kept the receipt as a proved that the service was done by PESC. you may call 'em to get a clearer detail.
*
i went to Pesona Mahir Sdn Bhd.
i keep all the receipt and everything...
i would never throw it away...
i will also file it nicely to keep track and also memories =D
it is my 1st new car after all =D

Dear all,
U guys & gals have any xp jump starting ur blm saga ? I've tried but it wont start, is there any ecu lock or some stuff happening in our car ?

The roof lamp left opened but i didn't notice it. I think this is the main cause.

The headlight is not working, central locking not working, and the alarm definitely not working. When i plug the jump start cable, the meter gauge info panel is working. But when i crank it, i can hear the starter ticking but it wont start. Isit something 2 do with the immobilizer stuff ?

Please share ur xp and the profer way 2 jump start blm  thank you !
My fren car also blm... but i just wont start : ( .. sifu please guide and help ! Thanks !
*
i do not know the difference of jump start a car...
but this is what i do on my old car.... smile.gif

1) clip the red wire to positive and black to negative on both the car...
2) the car have to be start (on the no prob car) and let it run for about 5 mins to charge back the faulty car.
- y 5 mins? now a days, jump start cable is not as thick as the old ones, so it charge very slow...
3) after 5 mins, ask a person to press on the accelerator and rev until 2RPM and start the faulty car, if doesnt work, make it to 3RPM. doesnt work again, charge about 1/2 mins and rev until 3RPM and start the car again...
4) if really doesnt work or still sounds nothing... go to the nearest workshop to buy a new battery for ur car...

hope this helps... smile.gif

Thanks bro, the battery totally depleted ! So my fren also cant jump start my car. Take out the battery and then go recharge at battery shop... put it back then magic happen ! Finally can start my car... : )
The battery guy @ the shop also say the jump start cable is too thin ... so no feel wo.. dunno true or not ..
TQ !  notworthy.gif
*
what the battery guy said is true...
i tested it myself with my old car few years back...

my dad has a thick jump start cable from his friend
and i have this normal thin jump start cable that can get anywhere in shopping complexes.

i try to use my cable to jump start, it got nothing and need to wait for a long time...
after leaving my car for a few days, my car unable to start again...
but this time, my dad uses his thick jump start cable and he just start his car and rev to 2RPM and straight i can start my car...

i did consult my mechanic about this problem too...
he said that the thin cable unable to transfer much energy so it should charge very long only can start the car...

too bad, now a days. if u found a thick jump start cable, that is ur lucky day...

if am not mistaken, saga blm full tank is 40 liter. you do the math.
when the fuel warning light turn on, it's still good for at least 80km drive. not advisable thou.
you're driving auto or manual? but no matter which one, you have to make sure you're in the right rpm to reach
170km/h as the 4th to 5th gearing in manual require some getting used to.
btw, i've had trashed the saga base line model(test drive car) during test drive. good enough for 175km/h. then again, the car feel highly unstable. steering vibrates like no tomorrow. some more with lousy stock tires.
it takes lotsa' guts to reach there.

btw, speed doesn't kill, but lack of concentration and stupidity does. so drive fast safely  tongue.gif
*
i agree...
speed doesnt kill...
its the sudden stop that did it... biggrin.gif
