QUOTE(Pman @ Apr 28 2010, 10:04 AM)
Morning, I'm a new 1.3 auto owner. got some noob question here.
1) wondering is it good a good habit to shift to "N" while driving (70~90km/h) , especially when u see red light (100~200M) ahead and let it free  ..?
2) while waiting at traffic light, should the shift to N or still use brake + D? notice quite alot ppl use "P" instead....
Thanks.

1) not a good habit..
2) better put N or P bcos if u keep pressing the brake ur backlight will die faster.(according to my friend) lol I usually just put N if needed + hand brake.

Pman, for manual car, it seems alright, but for auto trans, its not really good to your transmission life

while waiting at the traffic light, either N or P will do. N is good enough

1. not good
2. shift to N or P is better than pressing brake + D as the torque converter will still be moving but u r forcing it to stop...

I reached my first 250km this morning.

I spent RM33 petrol to go that distance. FC works out to roughly $0.13 per km. Is it normal for break-in period?

I drive a manual, 90% city, never exceed 80km/h or 2.5krpm.

Yesterday I found out there is a loud rat sound nearby the engine bay. The sound is located nearby a belt lookalike at left side of the engine. Is it the timing belt needed to be replaced or something else? Is it costly? The sound like a bunch of rats living inside my car's engine bay. =.=

Looks good on your FC feedback. Your driving speed is constantly below 80 kmph .. that's good. At least don't speed over 100 kmph .. for the 1st 1,000 mileage.
