Ok first of all, im not sure in which section this would be .
but since its meant for assisting cooling, i need to know where to get thermal pad and thermal tape in KL area ?
and also, which brand is the best available ?
all i've seen before is 3M and only niclasteoh selling .
is there any shop providing these 2 things ?
and also, is there any particular model or brand which gives better heat transfer than this 3M brand ? icon_question.gif

dont bother trying to find thermal pads....theyre practically impossible to find.

as for themal tape, the 3Ms are very good tapes. just order from nic (or uglyvamp whos also selling it)

thermaltape is very thin .
its used to stick small ramsinks onto the chips .
thermal pad is used just for heat transfer .
no sticking power at all i guess .
but which one better, that im not sure .
i think thermal tape lorh cause its almost like direct connection between chip and ramsink .

anyway, using ramsink wont reduce much for vRAM .
normally for vRAM its either stock cooler or waterblock is a better choice .
ramsink will not improve much for it .
heck some of them even make the temp shoot higher >.<"

i think if u put some vram sinks on it and let a good fan blow over it.. it should be better than stock biggrin.gif since got airflow to carry away the heat..

thermaltapes are thin and thermal pads are thicker...

if u wanna replace ur thermal pads with thermal tapes...make sure that u can still have contact with ur heatsinks...

coz for example my old 8800GTS. the rams were using pads....and if i used tapes....there wont be any contact coz the tapes are too thin...

my advice.....leave the pads alone..
