Hi all,

I rented a van from a company, and paid deposit before collecting the van.

Upon collecting the van, I paid the full rental amount.

After using the van, the owner accepted it without any complaints.

The deposit money is supposed to be returned in about 1 week after they check for summons.

(I know this is weird since I have never encountered this the last time I rented a car, but since the rates are cheap...so.. nvm lor...)

But week after week, he/wife keep on say sorry coz their "contact" for checking summons very slow..

From then I know that I kena already, coz there's no such thing in Boleh Land.

So until now one month + already, their last promise on last week tuesday was to bank in the money latest on Friday last week.

So the money haven't came, I tried to call the mobile phone yesterday and today, but can't get through, I believe it's in the call barring list, since can hear one ring then I get a number busy note on my hp.

So now I made complaint to NCCC and tribunal.

Still waiting for their reply.

But personally, I believe it's quite tough since I don't have the receipt for the cash payment. Only the bank in slip (deposit amount).

Any recommendations here? It's not a big amount, but.. I'm a student, need all the cash I can get.

Any recommendations welcome. Please no one-liner comments la...hehe blush.gif

Go on and post it over the web.

Do you have their identification details? Or do you know where they live? Wait till NCCC and tribunal to get back to you. Meanwhile , dont try to contact them for now. Let it be investigated.

In future, make an agreement for any goods or properties that you exchange for cash. Its for your own safety purpose and any issues after the agreement, you can refer to authority.

Hope you dont suffer so much till the investigation finishes..

NCCC can't help until I give the company address which I don't have.

So NCCC reply is:

Do SSM search to get the address, then go make a claim myself at tribunal.

So that means I have to pay RM15 to get it.. lol..

Anyway I sent him email saying please reply me by tomorrow, if not I'm going to tribunal on Wednesday.

So assuming he doesn't reply by tomorrow, should I proceed with tribunal? Or anyone here is in debt recovery line.... whistling.gif

What are my odds of winning, since I don't have the receipt....? hmm.gif

Don't have theire identification details, just a name, and a company name and reg number. And a rough estimate of the area they live.

Hi, you can go ahead and seek Tribunal's help. But without any details , how they can investigate on your behalf, evidence or proof is important.

Anyone in debt recovery line can help our friend here..??

I only have the bank in receipt for the deposit, not the actual full cash payment receipt. Is it even of any use?

Thanks for your reply.

After sending the email and citing the tribunal action, I received a reply stating that his hp is lost, and asking me for my bank a/c no, and that he'll pay shortly before CNY.

So my reply was: CNY is Sat-Sun, so please bank in on or before Thursday.

I hope for the best! If not, I'm going full force on the power of the Internet.
