Hey guys, since all of you are gamers here, want some advice from you guys.

yeah, my childhood is mostly spent in the 80s and back then, we have Ataris, Nintendos, and PS1 all the way.

I'd need some advice whether to get PS3 or Wii~ Btw, what's the price of PS3 games nowadays? I know that Wii could be modded and get some x games.

which console got more games that u'll like...go for that one. if both got the same amount...then let ur pocket decide.

go to nearest games shop.. test all console, wii, xbox 360 and ps3
then u decide which 1 suit u best

recommend to buy both ps3 and wii. the game could be the same but wii have a different game play compare to ps3 old way of playing game but ps3 have very good graphic compare to wii.

not killing you but Wii doesnt mean just Wii Sports, tennis, etc etc are available.

well, technically, its half logic. Why would a person want to pick up a violin when he never heard the sound of it?

So if he can name many games for the playstation console, then the PS3 will suit him cause majority of his favourite games are in the ps3.

But if he can name more Wii games than Playstation, than the Wii suits him cause he has more favourite game there.

But the best is, go to gamespot or ign, and see the top reviewed games, and then compare which console has your most favourite game.

honestly, i pick both, i have both DS and PSP ahhahahaha
nope, i cant really name much game other than zelda cause i dont own a Wii, but i play a ds

for me Wii = boring..

Agreed, i bought Wii also bcoz i can play Super Mario Galaxy and Fatal Frame 4 which also exclusive for Wii.

Here we go again...

Like most of the replies here, I suggest you figure out what kind of games you like playing and figure out from there. Both consoles have focused demographics, but with some overlapping points. That's what makes it hard.

A PS3 is poised to be not only for gaming. It also has Blu-Ray/DVD playback, full-fledged internet browsing support and DNAS client for playing back media stored on media servers (i.e. a Win7 HTPC). You can even copy the media onto the PS3's hard disk (if the media's DRM allows it) to take on the go. A Wii is straightforward- it's main function is for gaming. For media playback, the Wii is very weak here- it only supports JPEG picture and AAC music from SD card with no network media server support. Granted, you can mod your Wii to play DVDs, but you're on your own when the player breaks down.

Most games released for PS3 are more focused on action and are targeted at more mature players (amount of casual titles for a PS3 is way less than in the Wii library). On a Wii, most of it's titles are either casual/sports although it also has fair share of action games and games targeted at mature players (but the amount of mature games in it's library is way less than PS3). The Wii's strongest feature is the is the Virtual Console, in which you can play games for older consoles bought over the Wii Shop, see below.

On the online shopping end, the PS3 has the PlayStation Store which allows you to buy, download and play games, but the content downloadable are not-so-vintage PS1 games, the occasional TG16 and Arcade VC game, add-on levels, online-purchase versions of games you can also buy on blu-ray, and casual original games. If you have a PSP you can also buy PSP games for the PSP and PSP DLC. The Wii's equivalent of the PlayStation Store is the Wii Shop. Unlike the PS3 which is so far limited to TG16, Arcade and PS1, the Wii allows you to buy games for NES, SNES, N64, Megadrive, Master System, TG16 and arcade. Meaning it has wider selection of old games. It also has a good amount of original games.

However, to buy from Wii store, you must lie to the Wii a bit, tell it that you're in Brazil. For the PS3, it accepts most Malaysian addresses and no lying to the console is required, but if you want English games you must try to get a US PSN account and that means lying to the console anyway.

Price of Wii game is actually a bit cheaper than PS3 game... unless you count *ahem* which is cheaper by orders of magnitude. We strongly don't condone using *ahem* as it is bad on the Wii (since you have to mod it), industry (since the brainless marketroids for the company will determine that sales of a franchise is bad and order it discontinued), and you (if you are in an ahem shop when serbu polis happens).

One of the biggest drawback with the Wii is that it has mandatory region locking. US region Wii can only run US games and nothing else. Again you can mod the Wii, but if things go wrong, you're on your own. On a PS3 region locking is optional for games and no known games have no region locks (a few companies threatened, they were quickly pounded by region-lock-hating gamers and ended up eating their words). However on a PS3, blu-ray, DVD, PS2 and PS1 game disc locks are still obliged, so don't hope that European Blu-Ray movie discs will work with your PS3 even though European games will work.
