FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1. Why league? Why 2 month?

This is because a league has constant action, whereby a tourney is just 1 time off. Therefore running a league is the best choice to accomplished Spotgamers mission & vision which is to expose gamers.

The time frame was decided base on our budget & cost as well as the amount of exposure we can give to the gamers. Since it is a league, it is not feasible to be organized for a short period of time. But because most of the gamers are students or working, it is not advised to be done for a long period of time. Therefore, 2 month is the best median point for all parties.

2. I have exams/working on the match day. Can i postpone my match to the next match day?

Yes we would love to encourage that all our players to fulfil their responsibilities in both education and career. Therefore, you are allowed to bring forward your match to the next match day.

However, the management team will need to sit down with both you and your opponent to discuss on the best possible way to solve it and the validity of your reason. The player that request to postpone his match will be given a penalty from his commitment fee.

3. I want to play but i have class/work until 3.00pm. What should i do?

Our league runs from 1.00pm – 6.00pm. We would encourage and really appreciate that you will come over ASAP right after your class so that you can still play your games and to avoid any rescheduling. Re-scheduling would increase our management cost so it is better to come late than never.

There will be penalty given to late comers from their commitment fee.

4. What happens if i don’t turned up during match day?

Assuming that you didn’t inform us, your match will be forfeited and there will be penalty deducted from your commitment fee.

Therefore we would encourage all players to inform us beforehand if you couldn’t make it. We would love to establish a good communication & understanding to solve any problems with our players.

5. What makes Spotgamers E-Sports League different than the rest? What so special about this league?

The difference between Spotgamers E-Sports League and any other competition is that 80% of our energy will be focusing on exposing gamers to the public. Imagine ESPN but its for gaming!
There will be Match Prediction, Match Briefing, Pre-Interview, Live Coverage, Post-Interview, Summary & Compilation Videos, Upload Replays, Player/Team of the week, Match Analysis and many more.

All of this will be done through video recording and will be published online at Spotgamers. This is to give the best amount of exposure to our gamers. Imagine if there are 10,000 people watching your game EVERY WEEK, this will make it easy for the players to search for sponsors & recognition as well. Not just that, we are working closely with some colleges/universities to promote Spotgamers E-Sports League. So don’t be surprised if you saw your face in our posters at your colleges/universities.

So we hope that gamers don’t just look into the amount of prizes, but look into the amount of exposure that you can get and long term achievement. You will definitely be famous & popular when you are in our league.

Spotgamers E-Sports League is where we turn E-Sports into reality.

Hi Kurosaki,

Thanks for letting us know your intention to join other tourney and request rescheduling beforehand.

However, i feel that since your team is in a professional league, it will not give a good image for your team to join an amateur tourney.

Imagine if Ronaldo FFK Real Madrid & play in Division 4 League just because he can pawn them n get few thousand. Do you think he will be good, rich & famous like now? LOL no i dun thk so.

So we hope every1 understand what we are trying to do here. We are trying to create a platform where there is nothing wrong being the best in your game. Because it is very very sad to see that 95% of the DOTA tourney in Malaysia are Amateur base. Means that when u start being ban by organizers, u will have no other platform to play anymore. So whats the use of becoming good at the 1st place?

In this consideration, Spotgamers E-Sports League was born! This league will turn into a dream place for the pros. This league will provide the balance with the huge amount of Amateur tourney out there. And only the best are here.

I understand from the gamers POV as well. The commitment & effort for league is different than a 1 time off for a tourney. But tell me, if football only have World Cup, do you think players like Ronaldo,Messi,Rooney can become good? Can get rich? Can get famous? no they cant. Why? Coz there is no constant action, there is no constant pressure and there is no constant effort to push them to be the best.

But in the end its up 2 u. Are you willing to do whatever it takes to be the best? Are you willing to take this challenge to change the whole culture in the E-Sports community?

Would u want to be the pioneer of a professional attitude & culture in E-Sports KuRoSaKi? ^^

We have told MUFC the same thing as well. They are not allow to reschedule too.

Though ur players are unknown players but i believe your players will improve tremendously when you play along side the best players in the league instead of amateur tourney ^^

After last minute pull out by team Lucky-Cybertime, since there are only 4 teams in the league the management has decided to add on the remaining balance of the cash prize into the current pool.

The latest cash prize for DOTA is:

Champion: RM3000

1st Runner Up: RM2500

2nd Runner Up: RM2000

4th Place: RM1500

We hope that with the increase of the cash prize in each position will encourage more intense battle in the league.

The teams in the league doesnt just show their pro-ness in skills, but also in their attitude as well.

sR^ might be daring to enter the league with the chance of embarrassing themselves, but they are willing to compete, to take on challenge and to learn from the best. They are not afraid to lost. This is the attitude to be the best. Plus they can cash some money out.

I hope that more teams can cultivate this attitude but unfortunately most Malaysian are afraid of losing, afraid of embarrassment and jst being kiasu to d max. Prefer to tapao noobs in g@ren@ only. When see got pro teams in any tourney, its better dun hv any tourney at all.

I would like to call upon all the people who have doubts on this to join the league instead, and see if u can even last till the end of the season.

But as always, its easier said than done ^^

I'm pointing towards KiLLing-z2 for specifying that banning top teams for most of the tourneys makes the other teams not to play on tourneys that doesn't ban them which I don't think it's true as whether they do ban or not it'll be the same due to of what you've pointed , malaysian kiasuness. The tradition of banning top teams doesn't affect on one's way of thinking.

but its unfair to just ban top teams perhaps they should follow Singapore's style where when a player wins a tournament their rating would increases.. and if they loses rating would decrease...

where 1500 is average ... and their tournament rules normally is like banned 1520 rating above, or 1530 rating above etc

and they have their admin who keep track of players PSR..

but ofcourse the best would be no ban at all.. but if u want to ban might as well ban fairly and systematicly.. imagine u just joined Ks without winning a single local tournament and u already get banned!

... anyway really interested too join this compe la but too bad its at kl and take few weeks of gameplay... very difficult for us to come down to kl every weekend sad.gif

If recently the few tournaments that held and top team didnt get ban, i think more people will join the league smile.gif. And what i heard from people. People claim this as a "PRO" league, so the other amateur team didnt join this league. Scare end up got ban for the next tourney after joining this.

I believe that there is nothing wrong in having Amateur tourney.. its a good platform for newbies to exp the competitive play...

But no matter what there must be balance between Amateur & Pro tourney... for the moment there is too many amateur tourney and wat was the intention of it? Is it really to support the community? Or was there another hidden attention behind it?

Should the organizer be blame on this solely? No, it is the fault of the players as well. With more demand & participation of Amateur tourney, there will be more supply for that. Basic rules of economic, demand & supply.

So it is very important that the players themselves understand that this Amateur tourney exist to support the newbies, not winning fast cash then when kena ban form a new clan n start all over again.

There must be a platform for both amateur & pro players to play. If the community only goin to support the Amateur players then foreva we will be an Amateur community ^^

That's why we need a proper system to differentiate amateur/pro players/teams here.. Like makanandunia said, something like the singapore rating system would be a good start..

And prolly a seasonal event like they do also - once every 3 months or so (I guess we have this one already, but probably need a bit more organization)..

Or like their David vs Goliath tourney where winner from the David category gets to face off with the Goliath winner in the finals..

These are just mere suggestions to accommodate both amateur and pro teams.. I'm not necessarily saying that we should imitate them blindly - we could improvise from those example.. But even if we do, I think it would be good for the improvement of our scene..

But nonetheless, this league is definitely a good start for our scene.. I hope that it would get more support from other teams for the upcoming seasons as well..

so emo la u all -.-

what u mean amateur tourneys? if u guys can even get into top 3 of any single amateur tourney then only talk la. it's not as simple as it sounds, naturally organizers have to do what it takes to increase participation what. who would join when KS CT and XLO are inside the tournament. Common sense with seeding as well as allocating each pro team to separate brackets. chances of getting into top 3 = 1%? lol the top 3 positions are secured. amateur teams are not sponsored. who in the right mind would be so free to join every tournament? It's costly. so what if they ban pro teams. you can see efforts of teams from other states joining in order to secure a spot in the top 3. A proper system? Instead of all mouth, why don't you go ahead and start one? inc ks and ct are good enough to get sponsored to overseas for tournaments. the just have to compete in 1 big tournament online OR offline to earn enough cash. Amateur tournament only 1k. 3rd place only how much? you don't even allow amateurs to achieve a sense of glory?

there are enough tournaments to go around.

[T2.W|nDs]Jotaro vs [MyFeS.InC]Bush

2nd Round: Est. Time 3.00pm - 4.00pm

[T2.W|nDs]Vin vs [ToRn@d0]Falcon
[ToRn@d0]FoundANewJob vs Killer-X
[T2.W|nDs]Jotaro vs [T2.W|nDs]Bigboss
[MyFeS.InC]aRRoYoS vs [MyFeS.InC]Bush

Last Week Match Reschedule:

Killer-X vs [ToRn@d0]Chopper

[MyFES.INC] vs Killer-X

Due stay tune as we will start at approximately 2.00pm bringing you live coverage from Autosurf Cheras.

For the live coverage visit Spotgamers

While you were waiting here is some excerpt from the players interview session:

[T2.W|nDs]Vin

Q: Killer-X have mention before his purpose to join this league is to stop you from winning. Is there any special preparation against him?

A: My special preparation would be having enough sleep because it is important for me to sleep well.

[ToRn@d0]IFOUNDANEWJOB

Q: You didnt do well in the previous matches, how important is today match for you?

A: Normal only. Dont feel anything. LOL!

Q: Would there be any special preparation againt Killer-X to help improve your position in this league?

A: No. I never practice. The last time i play a match was... Last week! LOL!

We will be starting shortly.

2.00pm: Players are now selecting their teams. Most of them are using Brazil except Bigboss selecting Argentina and Killer-X selecting Portugal.

2.10pm: The 1st round match is underway. Please check the above fixtures on the latest scores.

2.13pm: Oh what a save by Bigboss! Falcon dribble in from the right win, passing by 2-3 defender and manage to get a slight chances against the goalie.. n he saved it! A sigh relief by Bigboss.

2.16pm: Falcon doesnt seems to be sharp today. The scores in all matches are still 0-0 while Vin & Killer-X had to restart their match due to disconnection.

2.17pm: Falcon start his move from the middle of the field... cut through from the left wing.. dribble in.. confusing Bigboss defenders... 1 on 1 with the goalie and... GOALLLLL!

1-0 to Falcon!

2.18pm: Bigboss respond immediately. From a free kick he unleash a very powerful shot to the far post.. hit the bar! But... his striker was in the area caught the goalie by surprise and... GOALLLL!!

1-1 to Bigboss

2.19pm: On another match, Jotaro had already secure a comfortable lead with 3 goals in the 1st half itself. It would be interesting to see how Bush cope with this.

2.20pm: Falcon had the corner... cross to the near post... header! Punch out by the goalie! But drop back to the feet of the striker... shoot! Block by defender! but the ball roll out to another striker.. open space and... GOALLLL!!!

2-1 to Falcon

2.25pm: Killer-X desire to stop Vin from winning the league seems to be far off. Vin had just secure 1 goal from a mistake by Killer-X.

1-0 to Vin

2.26pm: After scoring 1 goal, Bush is looking forward to get another goal from Jotaro. However as it get closer to full time, it is going to be hard for him.

1-3 to Bush

2.28pm: Bigboss tried to find the equalising goal... tries a long shot! But save by the goalie! And... its over! Falcon won the 1st match by the score of 2-1.

On another note, it seems unlikely for Bush to make a comeback when Jotaro had just scored his 4th goal in the last minute of the match. Jotaro won 4-1.

Vin had just secured another 3 goals against Killer-X which makes his score to 4-0. Mayb Portugal did conquer Brazil in the history but it certainly is the opposite in the virtual world of football.

2nd game of the 1st round will commence shortly.

2.35pm: The 2nd game is underway and what a pleasant it is for Falcon when he capitalize from a good middle short passing moves between 3 players and scores.

1-0 to Falcon

2.36pm: Bush is certainly no match for Jotaro when Jotaro had just secure 3 goals in the space of 3 minutes. The scores now are 3-1 with Jotaro leading.

2.38pm: Though MU fans hate Tevez, but it certainly is different for Bigboss when his Tevez had just helped him to secure an important equalising goal from the corner.

1-1 to Bigboss.

2.39pm: Seeing that Portugal is just a piece of crap, Killer-X switch his team to Inter Milan. It seems that the switch works... well for at least 3 minutes ago when Vin just scored the 1st goal of the match.

1-0 to Vin

2.41pm: Wow surprisingly Bush manage to make a close comeback when he claw back 2 goals from Jotaro. The scores now are 3-2 with Jotaro leading.

2.48pm: Intense battle is going on between Bigboss & Falcon. After Falcon score supposingly the winning goal, Bigboss hit back and again through the help of Tevez and Mascherano.

The score is 2-2.

Jotaro secure his victory with a 3-2 win over Bush. It will be interesting to see how Bush will pick up from this defeat.

Vin scored another important goal against Killer-X which makes him won the match by 2-0.

2.52pm: Ohh what a heart break for Bigboss. When we thought that it will go until extra time, Falcon did a brilliant lob into the box, chest by his striker, dribble in and... GOALLL!!!

Falcon won 3-2.

2.54pm: Do stay tune as the players take a short break. When we come back we promise more intense battles and more action to be witness in Spotgamers E-Sports League: FIFA 3rd Round Live Coverage from Autosurf Cheras.

I believe if you able to given out idea, set a protocol, Mr Jali will consider.
I know its not easy and not fun at all creating all sort of thing by yourself, but if you able to make a head start, you are contributing to community even there isn't any pay off.

I also believe such tourney could avoid a lot of thing, either follow so call David Vs Goliath like Singapore do, or maybe make if a tourney how long you manage to top tier team defeat you, you could get some prize, and if within how many minutes top tier team unable to defeat you, they get some penalty, not necessary money prize, you can punish them having one spoon of wasabi by compulsory.

This all just some example of creating fun in the tournament.

Regards,
Im not even a Dota Player

Hi Xiaofong,

Please be informed that we did not announce about any winners yet. In fact, there are misleading facts that Xlo was announced as champion due to the margin between them and Ks and MUFC.

Please note that the final matches will be played on 11th April 2010. Do ignore those forums and cite our sources from our official website. We are not responsible for any external news that differs from our official statement.

Thank you smile.gif
