Doesnt mattery got guide or not, people will still brick phone if anything goes wrong .. i dont have time to sit n write steps, i do work very fast since i have my own business to care .. this is just a hobby

If u got time, sit and explore the phone, usually i bring charger, sit at restaurant, mod n tweak while having some beers

i tried but failed .. maybe u can ask toughnut to alter the XFW and insert Chinese pack

It is really unpredictable on what the dealer / supplier have in their stock, its all depends on how u check the device properly before purchase, a cool talk and deal with the dealer is recommended.

Spend sometime at the phone dealer to check and ask n seek the specifications of the phone personally.

its various, n not the same size .. almost all files are modded including .V22, ROFS2, ROF3 and the .DCP file in my XFW

to clarify something which i have tested just now, for Nokia's native browser, u need to enable the OPEN SYSTEM FILES patch enabled in the ROM Patcher

My XFW created on base model RM-356 with product code 0570196 (RED) ..

If u want direct flash the 0570196 FW, just change the product code and flash, if not rename 0570196 files to ure product code..

Yes, u need the list to appear, try putting in to the correct folder, many face this issue in JAF by JAF never lists out the model availability

My JAF working path is this .. C:\Program Files\Nokia\Phoenix\Products\RM-356

Yes, i wonder y too .. i see nearly 3 to 4 ppl faced this issue ..

Justin, try this ..

- Remove PC Suite Completely (and OVI Suite also if have) .. use PC Suite Cleaner for effective removal.
- Make sure u have completely removed (double check at ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS in Windows).
- Remove Phoenix and JAF Service Suites.
- Delete any remaining paths in computer manually under C:\PROGRAM FILES manually.
- Delete any remaining paths in computer manually under C:\PROGRAM FILES\COMMON FILES manually.
- Restart PC.
- Now Install PC Suite only.
- The Install JAF Service Suite.
- Restart PC.
- Plug in the Phone under PC SUite mode (see if PC Suite detects the phone).
- After successful detection, detach the phone.
- Now see the existing new path and put the downloaded firmware there.
- Start JAF and see if the list now appears or not.

Remember, when u tick the box MANUAL FLASH the notification area, screenshot below:
