WRC and FIA, also NASCAR will be official in GT5. To kill time and to REALLY experience crazy off road racing, get Motorstorm2. Awesome underrated race. Better than Dirt2 Imo. Or if you have extra cash lying around, NFS Shift ( but this game will become redundant when GT5 is out. )

Hi Guys

A bit out of topic. I just got myself a PS3 and got Dirt 2 and Modnation racers for my son. Is there any other good car race games out there. ??    Dirt 2 is good, cant wait for GT5 but any other ones worth buying ???

Please suggest and rate it if you dont mind...
Thanks

i am interested in this question as well, but looking at the price difference, there shud be a gap in performance....2-3 seconds per lap perhaps?

If u not into the clutch thingy better get the DFGT. Those clutch pedal on G25/27 really got in the way when playing other racing games whuch does not supports clutch functions (at least for people with big feet like me brows.gif )

saw some youtube reviews about dfgt's pedals mentioning they were sub-par to g25/27 with plasticky feeling... and maybe too light

DFGT pedals is too light compare with G25's aluminum 'heavy feel', can be a bit hard for beginner, haven try the G27 though, but DFGT is basic and value buy for GT5

Since I live in an apartment, I bought myself one of these a few months back to mount my G25, and it's pretty sturdy and compact.

No more moving the kitchen table in order to set up the wheel anymore.

I researched on the DFGT and the G25,G27.

I noticed that the DFGT has a sort of annoying plastic gear sound when u turn the wheel, If ur doing powersliding, Make sure to cover your ears, the wheel will make a loud plastic sound blink.gif

As shown in this video, but do be reminded that this wheel is budget-type , RM 400 +/- now .

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6nvgOEZ2QOU

( tried several times to embed the video but failed cry.gif )

The G27 is a very silent wheel, Though, if u try to powerslide , u might hear a clunk sound . thats the new Helix gearing. Not to mention its hefty price tag of RM1000+/-

It is about the same as the G25 except for the gas pedal which has been pushed back a little to enable heel-toe shifting drool.gif , The Wheel has also more programmable buttons, shifter no longer has up and down shifting, only H shifting.

The DFP before the DFGT was even worst... that one is a nightmare, loud as hell.
I think the noise from the DFGT is bearable, you won't even notice it... heck, aren't you supposed to be focusing on the road instead? laugh.gif

So for those looking at the DFGT, don't let this minor gripe shy you away from it.
Hell of a wheel for RM400+.

I'm lucky enough to test all Logitech wheels (1st page i've posted a little detail on them) and here's my view

G25/G27

Pros :

- got clutch pedal. You can remapped it to be the brake pedal.
- flappy gear paddle.
- H-gated shifter
- The pedals offer resistance for precise braking

Cons :
- pricier than DFGT
- Only six buttons on the wheel (i like all the button on the wheel for easy adjustment)
- the pedals are to close - sometimes you missed the brake pedal and hit the clutch instead.
- G25 is getting rarer

DFP/DFGT

Pros :
- Official wheel for GT series
- lots of buttons on the wheel
- cheaper than G25/G27

Cons :
- no flappy gear paddle - only buttons - might strain your fingers when using it (like i did when i raced the 4-hour enduro race in GT4)
- The pedals offers no resistance
