DEAR FIFA FANS !!!

Hi there!!! FINALLY we managed to organized the FIRST MALAYSIA REGIONAL TOURNAMENT on FIFA franchise this year. We will be coming from state to state to look for 32 top players to fight for a place to represent MALAYSIA for FIFA International Tournament 2010.

This thread is not a FIFA thread but an additional thread only for the tournament. So people get to know more details on how to take part, where, when and the format. Beside giving away a flight and stay opportunity to represent MAlaysia, we heard that there is LCD for second place too...so stay tuned and we will announce full details next week !!!

Hello Alan,

I have some proposal here about the regulation & rules..

1. It's possible to use default formation instead of CUSTOM formation as well.
2. Only can change/swap player if the player injured.
3. Play speed - normal

It's just my proposal only, base on my experience. I don't want any participant will ruin the game play & competitiveness if some of the participant will use 6 or 7 defenders.. I think you
can get what I mean...

Sorry if some of the participant who will participate in this tourney will dis-pointed about my proposal.

For the rest still remain the same...

i agree wif storm suggestion...many hav complaint about it...even worse if they put all players be the defenders..only 1 striker upfront..that would be 9-0-1 formation lol..seriously i already encountered this kind of ppls..

agree with storm... maybe only can use default formation...
but, only can swap/change player before match start....

hmm... why only FIFA 2010.. I thought PES 2010/WE 2010 have better grip of real football simulation...

maybe World Cup is an official event organized by FIFA... so, why should the body organized other product instead of their own brand product???

btw, Sony also 1 of the FIFA World Cup sponsor right if i'm not mistaken.... Correct me if i'm wrong.... sorry....

FIFA 10 Tourney UPdate...

FOR THE FINALS: Here are the changes...so start training and think about our strategy now.

1) FORMATION is allowed to change.

2) FIFA 10 will have UPDATED TEAMS and LATEST DOWNLOADS

3) PLAYING TIME PER GAME IS 5 MINUTES

4) NO HOME /AWAY GAME... REFEREE will flip coin and player decides field or ball.

5) PLAYERS ARE NOT ALLOW TO WEAR SHORTS, please wear a long pants.

6) NO SLIPPERS

7) QUALIFIERS please wear your SONY PS FRIEND T SHIRT...we will give to those who havent receive yet.


Formation change - Its the FINALS...so every match is important. We have noticed that without FORMATION CHANGE, underdogs players will defitnately dont stand a chance to play. Just like real soccer...Malaysia VS England...how to win? So Managers usually change formations and hope for better results...thats strategy...so we allow formation change. This also is an opportunity to allow pro to take on more difficult challenge and to those who are new to stand a chance.

So start designing your own strategy now as every match and points is important to bring you a head during the tourney....

Added on March 22, 2010, 6:13 pmWell...PES or WE isa goodgame...I amaHuge FAN of these 2 titles...however...I am also regret to say that the game has not improved from game play compared the PS2 titles. For PS3 WE and Metal Gear was my desired game for the console and when the game wasreleased. I was dissapointed as the game only imporved fromthe graphic wise and not the mechanics and game play.

FIFA franchise used to be the follower brand...but since FIFA 09, the brand has made the game so REAL ( beside BUGS from some crappy animation ...sometime noticable ) and now i can say that FIFA leadthe soccer game title.

Lets hope Konami do something about it and I believe, WE has not met the full potential of the PS3...

Btw Alan, I think this new rules may have some issue from our clique...
In term of the original rules that player MUST use default FORMATION etc...

I worry if this new rules will spoil the gameplay itself. But it's just my opinion.... Anyhow...thx for the info..

FORMATION is allow to change and only the DEFAULT PRE FIX FORMATIONS only...you are not allow to CUSTOM IT...so no worry guys...Storm I do understand the issue of formations...however...restricting them using custom formation I think is good enough. contestant is allow to choose their preffered formations but not to the extend of CUSTOMIZING it...so far this is the changes made and not OFFICIAL....so will announce only during the tourney on the 3rd. My suggestion...start training the formations now...

First off..not saying that its not a good game...however: These comment is based on REAL sOCCER...as a player myself...i prefer a game as real as possible.

THE BAD:

1) Characters are stiff. And jerky animation sometimes.

2) Through pass...no matter where you point...the ball will only go towards opponent side...FIFA allow us to through pass where we point the directions.

3) DEMO is playing at ANFIELD - IM a LIVERPOOL fan and thats not the GOAL POST ANFIELD HAS.

4) Referee whistle does not sound like official.

5) Color a little too warm.

6) Out line of characters seems thinken...

7) Crappy AI sometimes...

8) Arcade gameplay and wont call it simulation. FEEL like playing SUPER SIDE KICK. ( if you guys remember that hot soccer title before WE )

9) The ball is a little too light. Dont feel character got gravity.

10) restricted turning...no 360 control like fifa. SO it feels weird.

11) BAd Commentator


THE GOOD:

1) Animated FACE are betterthan FIFA ( japanese do better interms of drawing)

2) Jersey and brand are available now.

3) Easier interface screens compared to FIFA

4) packaging design is better

5) Good animation in terms of how a player usually act. FIFA has been reused most of it. SO its kind of sad for FIFA at that point.

6) Creating tournament is better than fifa...

FINAL WORDS:

PES is meant for those who want fast action soccer simulations while FIFA 10 is for the HARD CORE SOCCER FANS.

HERE IS FOR FINALIST.

Here is the FIFA 10 FINALS RULES AND REGULATIONS:


1) Tournament is open only to 32 FInalist which has been played through out the Month of March 2010.

2) Contestant is only to use 1 CLUB through out the tournament.

3) Tournament will be played in GROUP STAGE of 4 teams per group and the top 2 team of each group will be qualified for the Second Round Knock Out Stage.

4) Game time will be 5 minutes, professional. And 6 minutes for knock out stage.

5) Contestant is allowed to change their configurations of controls, tactics, squad, formation before the game begins.

5) FORMATIONS is allowed to change, however...contestant is not allowed to CUSTOM the formation.

6) During game play, players who wish to change players or any configurations is to let their opponent know in advance before pressing to the option screen. Best time to change is when the ball is out of play.

7) Pressing the home button will result a yellow card. Receiving 2 yellow card and contestant will receive a RED card. Having the red card - the contestant game will automatically disqualified. Any other unsportmanship actions from contestant will also receiving yellow cards or red card.

8) SWEARING during game play will be resulted with a RED CARD immediately. When Red card is issued, the contestant is no longer allowed to be in the tournament AREA and ask to leave. All his game will be disqualified and his opponent will win the rest of their games.

9) In case of Power Failure - all games has to be replayed.

10) Incase of LCD or PS3 failure - all games has to be replayed.

11) Contestant is to follow the referee instructions at all times. Please be at the tournament area during your group stage. Referee will only call contestant name for 3 minutes before allowing the game win by your opponent.

12) Please inform the assistant referee if you were to walk away for toilet or cigarette break. Referee will announce the next game everytime each match start.

13) Contestant is also advise to wear proper attire during the tournament. Preferbly PLAYSTATION FRIEND T SHIRT and any long pants with shoes. Please DO NOT wear short pants and slippers.

14) Referee reserves the rights to disqualify contestant who does not follows the rules and regulations at all time and their decisions are finals.

SONY said difficult to handle 2 teams and we allow formation change...however...maybe we allow 2 teams only DURING KNOCK OUT STAGE...still pending...

ok2... its ok... but then, some of us saying that is not fair for the finalist from KOSMO tourney automatically qualify for the last 16players.... n some of us that already qualify, want to go to KOSMO, look for the best 2 and go for SONY tourney on 4th... they want to let go their place in sony tourney... so how is it alan???

I too agree with this issue. However, lets look at it this way...At Kosmo, there will be approx 1000 contestant and winning it is difficult compared to SONY. So priority to the champ there. Thats what organizer said to me. DONT WORRY GUYS. Let us take this as a challenge as there is no always keep both side happy at the end of any tournament...one side we want it to merge with other events and the other side we want more people and satisfy contestant...We cant choose all but we tried our best to support all sides. Think of it this way...we never had a FIFA tourney this huge before right? and we did it...so give us a chance to work something much better...

Thanks for concern and we do understand how you feel as a player and a friend bro...I think for my team now, we want to make sure the RULES for the finals is agreeable to everyone. So we are working on that starting monday...

Here is the scheduled tournament updates:

1) GROUP MATCHES of 8 GROUPS. However, due to 2 Kosmo players go straight to Last 16. We then only needed 30 people for the group matches. In the 8 groups, 2 of the group will have only 3 contestant and 2 of these group will only have 1 seat for the last 16. Meaning LAST 16 from Sony will have only 14 players with additional 2 from Kosmo. Total 16. So good luck to those who are in the groups of only 3 players.

2) Tournament on the 3rd April 2010 Group Stage will be divided into 2 session. Group A,B,C and D will be played officially at 1PM - 3PM. There will be 4 console and lcd readied for each group. Group E,F,G and H will be played from 5pm - 7pm.

3) Knock out stage on the 4th April 2010 will start at 11.00am

4) Semi finals and Finals will be played on STAGE at 1 - 2pm

5) Changes in game Mechanics -

- Contestant is allowed to change formations, however cannot custom.
- Game play for EACH MATCH IS 6 MINUTES. ( not 5 )
- Players is only allowed to have 1 Clubs through out the tournament.
- Players are not allowed to change the CAMERA, WEATHER and GAME
SPEED. Doing so will resulted a YELLOW CARD. As we have caught
contestant change the WEATHER and SPEED.
- Tournament will be played in single match. NO HOME AWAY.
- CONTESTANT MUST WEAR SONY T SHIRT with LONG PANTS and
SHOES during the tournament. Referee reserves the rights NOT TO
ALLOW contestant to take part if their attire is not according to the
rules and regulations.
- Please make sure contestant is at the tournament AREA at all time
during your match as we will disqualify contestant who are not at the
area within time limits of 3 minutes.

now i got 2 questions here:

1) since u said we players are allowed to change the formation without customizing it..can we use other default formation team into ours?let say my team is liverpool but using manchester united's default formation without customizing it . this one can be done by saving those formation and it will appear on the formation menu along wif the preset formation and any teams u choose can use it that formation..

2) during the grand final,fifa 10 that will be using is it updated wif all the latest update or not?coz last saturday u said u having some problem wif sony's management to update the ps3..

Hi there...great questions...

1) You are not allowed to SAVE other team formations. You are only allowed to USE default formations provided by the game on your each TEAM.

2) Games of FIFA 10 has requested to be UPDATED. However, that is not under my control as we are the GAME MARSHAL'S and we cannot control the organizers internal activities. So far we have the GREEN LIGHT to update the games BUT we can only do that in the morning of 3rd April 2010 - not to blow your bubbles but as a gamer myself, I am afraid that we might not be able to update all on time...For the time being - I am still requesting the organizer to hand me the consoles so I can update the GAME on time. Keep finger crossed.

1) FINALIST mungkin tidak cukup pada FINAL day kerana ada yg tidak dapat datang. Oleh itu, pihak penganjur dan game marshal telah setuju untuk memanggil Peserta KL / SELANGOR yg berada di tempat yang ketiga dan hanya peserta yg gol jaringan yg paling tinggi. Jumlah GOL jaringan akan di tolak dengan GOL yg dilepasi terlebih dahulu dan jika adanya peserta yg mempunyai mata yg sama, maka peserta yg mempunyai jaringan yg paling tinggi ( tidak mengira GOL dilepasi )akan layak ke peringkat akhir.

Kami hanya boleh memanggil peserta dari kl / selangor kerana hanya esok petang kami dapat tahu jumlah peserta yg akan hadir pada hari sabtu ini dan untuk menyenangkan pihak penganjur mendapat sambutan dan lebih senang untuk pihak kami membuat keputusan. Bagi pihak penganjur, kami ingin meminta maaf jika ada yg mereka rasa tidak adil dalam scenario sebegini. (salah satu masalah termasuk, hotel telah penuh di booking orang ramai )

pertandingan SONY, anda tidak layak untuk ke pusingan LAST 16. Anda boleh meyimpan hadiah di pertandingan KOSMO tetapi, tempat untuk last
16 akan diberi kepada perserta yg belum menang iaitu, tempat kedua , dan ketiga...dan seterusnya.

Friday registration infact opens at 11.00am however the last tournament for 4 seats is at 4.00pm due to Sembahyang Jumaat...so as long as you register before 4.00pm will be ok.
