Hello guys. Im trying to figure out my new build...What i want to know -is it ok to run your loop without fans mounted to the radiator. Im trying for "stealth mode" here and i dont want it to be noisy. Below r my specs Reservoir-pump-cpu-radiator-back to reservoir. using: AMD Phenom X4 WC gears: Apogee XT Swiftech Micro RES Feser 240 rad TQ. ps: if wana comment anythg also can

if want stealth mode:
better have a nice room temperature... better have a lot of space for ur rad to realese heat (put the rad outside recommended) better no oc...
maybe can consider using lower rpm fan... the result will be much better than stealth...

yep at least put a low rpm/low db fan or stock fan will do...u cant hardly hear the noise if use stock fan. at least it gives some improvment on the temp. if u wanna run passive in an aircond room is ok but if sauna room like mine better not

run fans on 500rpm with overkilled radiator, maybe a 360...
sure u get good temps and yet super quiet...

u must put a fan to blow on the radiator... else it will become worst than air cooling, just the matter of time the radiator will be come hotter and hotter, the heat up water wont be able to cool down...

Almost forget about this thread.hehe. BTW, been looking around and have taken quite a liking to these 2 fans: 1. thermaltake A2492 http://www.newegg.com/product/product.aspx...N82E168351061162.xigmatek xlf-f1454 xigmatek.com/product/accessory-xlf-f1454.php like the 2nd one better but it's 14cm not 12 cm, 12 cm variant of the same model goes to 20dba,14cm=16dba these fans r quiet rite?

if want quiet, buy a fan controller as well... with water cooling (depends on your setup) , fan running at 500rpm-900rpm sufficient to cool down everything. Then you will get a very quiet system. Most noise of my system came from my PSU before I changing from Corsair Tx750 to Seasonic x750. Its quiet now, when lower fan speed, its dead silent. only pump noise are noticeable as I didnt put any vibration absorber for it.

QUOTE(redrabbit @ Feb 7 2010, 12:19 PM) wah, now giving me dream of changing my psu : ) btw, there are not much of reviews that actually tell about dba that psu puts out. even some brands dont list down noise level of their product la lol bro... seasonic x750w fan doesnt spin under certain load and temperature. Hence 0 dB. and its very quiet compare to tx750w when running full load @ my i7 @ 4.2ghz HT on using prime95 custom blend 5.5gb. The fan spin but the speed wont go as fast as the TX750w cause of the heat loss in this PSU is little. now what making noise is my pump and fans on the triple rad that run at full speed when stress. With fan controller, I can make my PC dead silent when I sleep. But only parts tht making noise is the pump . But you can always do some vibration dampening mod or go for quieter pumps.
