Hey needa ask some stuff about the XPS 16... Planning to get the i5-430M.. I heard that the laptop gets very hot even the power supply turns hot too... Is there such a thing?

Oh and btw whats the average waiting time after you guys order the laptop online? Does it goes cheaper during PC fair? Or will there be more freebies during PC fair as I know online doesnt give anything....

Thanks in advance!!

Normally I thought laptop will have some beeping sound to indicate that the battery is low? Cause last time my dell laptop has a beep sound for like a few minutes before it really goes hibernation mode. Maybe you can also try to go through the settings and see if there are any notification stuff that can be selected.

It's better to deal with one of the SA before putting your order as you may get better offers. smile.gif

hmm.gif You can ask for discount if and only if you got customize the specs. of your laptop and also some freebies like mouse, anti virus and etc.

If I didnt customize my specs? Will I get freebies or discount? Cause I dont think Ill be customizing my specs...

Last time, I heard from one of the Low Yatt "forumer" that usually the SA will not offer you any discount if you do not customize your default specs. of your laptop. As for freebies,  I think it will not be a major problem if you ask for it from your SA.  biggrin.gif

You ordered yours via SA?
*
Ahh... Icic.. thanks for the info... Will definitely order through a SA... But is it depending on who your SA is that will provide with discuount/freebies right? Is there any recommended SA? Or like the other forumer stated that just email to that SA and hope that she will reply and give some good bargain?

Yup, you are right! As for the recommended SA, you can try to ask Finding Screemo

I dunno what the dilemma for if you have to choose an apple based laptop or windows based laptop. i think there are about hundreds of this types of comments and usually it is answered pretty good already.

the only exception is if you are really new to computing world and just want to start using one. both windows and apple have really easy learning steps... no dilemma here.

If you are not sure on what type of dilemma I have then dont make assumptions as everyone is different. Furthermore, I'm not asking for anyone's opinion on which laptop to choose. The question I'm asking is when will the upgrades/refresh of XPS line coming. The dilemma part is a statement not a question. There are many things to consider (price, specs, reliability, smoothness, convenience etc) and both are expensive gadgets to me. So what's wrong if I have a dilemma. I'm not someone who would just spend my hard earned money based without any comparison/research. So I'm currently waiting/want to know when the latest upgrade from dell to see which is much better choice to be made since MBP already done their upgrades.

Yeap they brough xps 13 back. But I wonder why the second spec price is higher compared to even the xps 16 core i5 model...

keep on asking. coz no one is ever sure on that. why want to choose a mbp over xps? both have different usage i presume and what the dilemma for? if you dont want people to answer your dilemma question, then dont ever mention that. i have to asnwer coz it looks like a question BEGGING for answer.

if it were me, if I use a lot of windows based program, for sure i want a windows type of laptop. if I were to use apple based program, i would use apple hardware. then again, I dunno that coz you dont even state that you dont want answer to your own question. *sigh* this type of people also got..... ask question but dont want answer.
about your main question, there exist another forum as well, and it is also quite heavily answered and also, the dell rep is also confused. here is the link. this is just some guide i can provide for your dilemma.

http://forum.notebookreview.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1049

we are also hate to answer a question that dont want an answer... so pls do hint us in the future if you want to ask a question that dont need an answer.

Not to mention i see some people wants to buy a Macbook but only use Windows on it.. What's the point of having a macbook then for that value of money????

If I never ask then definitely I'll NEVER know. But if I ask maybe someone would know when they are upgrading get it?

I have the right to choose based on my preferences. Both have the same usage that is to serve us as a computer for our daily usage. Like you said if it was you right? But I'm not you. Rofl don't make a fool out of yourself. If it is a question, there will be a question mark at the end of the sentence no? So stop assuming everything smart alec and maybe start looking for punctuation in people's sentences.

I didn't even ask a question regarding my dilemma so why would I want an answer from you all? So you hate to answer a question which is not a question that don't need an answer. What a joke doh.gif . Not all posts are questions that people want to ask. Some people post to make a statement here.

Good work for making yourself looked like a clown. Thanks for entertaining me and making me laugh joker. Good job Good job rclxms.gif

So please do take note on punctuation used by people in their sentences and stop assuming?
