DELL will refresh GPU in March, not sure about the exact date, GPU will be better compare to the current ATI 4670, according to my SA. I already cancelled my order since there is delay on my customized system - RGBLED screen part shortage. Other who is not rushing to get a new laptop, can hold your order till March. smile.gif

The power adapter issue, my SA said that there is no 130W adapter available in Malaysia, if browse to DELL US, there is no option to order 130W adapter either. She also said there will be Bios update to solve the issue. Not sure how true is that. hmm.gif

Shall be waiting for that then. tongue.gif

Positive it'll be out in march?

Very positive, actually I already paid for the previous customized system which I cancel the order, now DELL holding up the payment till March for the new GPU instead of arranging a refund.

There is a forumer saying that DELL Canadian has actually once allow user to customize SXPS 16 with ATI 5730 in January, but it's a mistake for DELL Canadian to post up the system because actually they don't have any stock for ATI 5730 yet and end up this forumer downgraded the GPU to ATI 4760.

Referring to the product website: ATI 5730, looks like a promising GPU with support of DirectX 11 but with lower clock speed of 650Mhz compare with 675Mhz for ATI 4670. Newer technology which is 40nm (5730) compare to 55nm (4760), thus, power consumption is lower, 26W (5730) compare to 35W (4730). Specification can be found on notebookcheck.net.

Maybe due to power throttling issues that happening worldwide make DELL to refresh to a newer GPU with lower power consumption.

Me too, I sent an email to my SA to check whether they have insight information about the launching of new GPU and she checked with the relevant team but there is no news, I guess the earliest to get any news is beginning of March. unsure.gif

Anyone here have an uneven keyboard or notice that the keyboard keys are not even on certain keys?? I had received the laptop on 29 March and the keys J, K, L are not even compare to other keys, reported to tech support and case was passed to customer care, it takes a month and I just get the replacement unit, but surprisingly this new unit is also having same keys that are not even. I'm having both laptops with me now and not sure what to do. shakehead.gif

Please see the attach picture, you can see clearly J is already "senget", and K is lower than other keys. It more obvious when touch and feel it.

Come on.. don't be too fussy.. That's barely noticeable lol..
*
Not trying to be fussy, when touch on the drop keys, you can feel like that particular keyboard area is dented. I'm asking here to know whether every keyboard for SXPS16 is the same, then this is a design issue. To be honest, I have not used/seen a dented keyboard on a laptop before, this is my first time.

they din take back the old unit and leave you with 2 units now? wow...

if that really is the case, that is too good to be true.

I have to return the "damaged" laptop to DELL and since both laptops are the same, i'm facing a dilemma now.

Hmmm... I wouldn't even notice it if u haven't mention it. Just checked mine and seems like my G K V N is slighty lower. It's not that obvious and it doesn't affect my typing, so i'm good smile.gif

Your keys is quite random, for my keyboard, the affected keys are J, K, L which are in a same area. Got a feeling that some screws for that area are too tight causing it.
