Could it be 32 bit n 64 bit problem ?

Btw, anyone using the XPS 16 I5 430 facing trottling problem ? Thinkin of gettin one to use for CNY then wait for M11X to come out wif I5 processor. Anyone got a quote for I5-430 ?

That's ram sharing, the gpu already have 1gb. Even sharing the performance won't be good.

I found Dell 130W and 150W adapter, both super big size, price RM 220-250. Used item i guess, from XPS 1730M and M2120 or sumthing. Tot of gettin for my XPS 16 but dell can't deliver my order b4 Feb so I have to wait. Getting a bigger Wattage adapter won't hurt ur lappie, it's the same as getting a higher wattage PSU for ur PC, if the need to draw more current, the adapter will supply, better than having a lower wattage adapter and can't sustain the draw hence end up in smoke.

The reason dell didn't include a higher wattage could be due to cost, or the size of those adapters, it's damn big, almost like a brick. . Another possible reason could be their tech ppl dun wanna admit their mistake for assuming a 90w adapter is more than enough for their XPS 16 systems.

Do note that that's if u make loads of noise, writing loads of letters, e-mails, calling up their complaints dept. to get such offers. XPS 1730M to Alienware M17X is very very very good offer. Not everyone manage to get those "upgrade" there's alot more have issues still pending and can't get their "upgrade" due to certain policies such as location, diff SA, diff customer relation officer.

Afterall it's Malaysia, we can't expect same "upgrade" given to everyone.

Did u purchase this unit from dell ap outlet ? I tried to call up their sales but it's sold just awhile I see it's available online.

Added on May 24, 2010, 6:42 pmI did reply ur price bout SXPS 16 at Alienware thread, for that pcie it's not really cheap unless ur gettin the RGB LED and full hd. I can get similiar spec T9800 or 9600 with RGB LED and 4670 gpu but for that price around 3.1-3.8k u can get a local unit from any dell retailer around RM 3950-4099 with I5 430, 4GB DDR3, 500GB, Full HD LCD, if u bargain u might get a targus bag as well. For the same price better check out other laptops like Alienware M15X or Asus G51VX or JX series, of course, it could be u prefer Studio 16 XPS looks then by all means go for it. Gettin refurb got 2 type, one is official Dell Outlet units another is by major refurb companies which purchase dell laptops in bulks and provide their own warranty. If dell outlet provides shipment to Malaysia I believe they are the best as we can be covered if u upgrade the warranty to 3 years or more. IF just 1 year we might not be covered.
