Me too, I sent an email to my SA to check whether they have insight information about the launching of new GPU and she checked with the relevant team but there is no news, I guess the earliest to get any news is beginning of March. unsure.gif

I noticed that some guys here are waiting for the refresh of xps 16, I myself also one of them. I'm thinking that why don't we do a "bulk order", and nego with SAs to get better price or stuffs? I'm sure that if we can gather and do a bulk order, sure the price will be a lot better than we buy it separately.

@hit-able

Sounds doable... Thing is, diff people might want diff configurations. So i'm not sure how it'll work. We'll see when the refresh is confirmed smile.gif

Definite a no no for me as such purchases are involving thousands of ringgit.Who's going to be liable if the one ordering runs away after receiving the money from fellow forumers?No..we aren't dealing with small money here. There are already enough scam cases in lowyat already sweat.gif

Cain, u're waiting for the GPU refresh? laugh.gif

I was under the impression that payment can be done individually, just through the same SA?

Not purposely waiting for the GPU refresh... Just need to get my lappie before i fly off to US, which is in Aug. So no rush. Might as well wait. I would prefer other upgrades like maybe a USB3.0 tho

I'm not sure whether that can be done or not tongue.gif

There are pretty much other good laptops besides SXPS 16 in the 4k region but can't remember them blush.gif USB3.0 tech is kinda new now...the problem is not the USB 3.0 port but the HDD whether it supports it...iinm only SSDs can support USB 3.0

To be honest here, after owning my SXPS 16 wub.gif for about a week now...not many laptops can beat the unbelievable package this machine can offer brows.gif

If I'm not mistaken, MSi GT660 gaming notebook is said to be equipped with USB 3.0 port. Try this: MSi GT660 Gaming Notebook biggrin.gif

The idea of "bulk order" is not something like buyers need to pay upfront, it's just confirmed the quantity of how many lappy that we want to buy, and nego it with SA. For the payment part you need to deal with SA.

I think it's pretty easy to do and risk free.

I am new to this forum and looking to buy a laptop. A few questions to ask the panel of experts here.

(a) Is Dell a worthy laptop compare to other brands like Toshiba and Asus?

(b) Which range of Dell offers the best deal? I am looking for a laptop that can support 1080p resolution, as well as good graphic card. Perhaps Alienware Mx17?

© Is it cheaper to buy in Malaysia or in US?

Thank you for your advice.

-imho Dell giving the best service compare 2 other brand, price cheapest in market, mid range quality(u paid what u get)

-studio xps with ATI Mobility RADEON HD 4670 - 1GB, u cant compare with high end alienware as the price u pay

-if u earn US dollar of course cheaper, imagine salary USD3000 u pay just USD1000+laptop / salary RM3000 pay RM4000+laptop

(a) if u r talking about performance:price ratio, here is the answer. not all dell laptops have good performance:price ratio. for laptop with price of 4k and below, no doubt sxps16 has the best performance.
(b) m15x also support 1080p

I am SO NOT going to go for another one because of the USB 3.0 lah... It's a feature i'd like to have, but definitely not a dealbreaker for me smile.gif

Tnx for the suggestion, but no offence, it looks horrible. Makes me wonder if there is a correlation between huge ugly bricks and gamers. tongue.gif Sorry...
