now you know how much I want to bang my head up to a wall last 2 week. 29th jan order, 12th feb got. 15 days!!!!

just realized that this xps have infrared, and also 3g/hsdpa optional. 1 extra mini pcie wwan slot, 2 more antenna wire, and also, if we remove the battery, we can see the sim card slot.

with all this feature, i think the money i spend is well worth it...

hmm.gif My Dell Inspiron 1420 also have the S.I.M card slot underneath the battery slot which I never tried before. Actually, how we can utilize this slot? We only have to slot in our S.I.M card into it and then what will happen next? Is it we can surf internet via the S.I.M card if my S.I.M card does support & includes 3G/HSDPA?  rclxub.gif

nothing will happen if we just blindly insert sim card there. sweat.gif we must have the 3G/HSDPA WWAN card also properly installed and configured. there are a software that will handle all the DATA calls and modem configuration.

and also, we must also have an active 3G/HSDPA account. wink.gif

I can safely said the thermal paste I used cooled a lot. i remember that normal working temp , which is firefox open 3 windows, about 10 tab each, 4-5 MS word, winamp, usual task, before I fired up my Adobe suite.

before the temp is at least 52C. so this cools the system a lot.

cool.. you give me the inspiration to change my 6935g's thermal paste too tongue.gif

well, I advise you to check first your laptop condition, see the screws and formulate the best way to do this without scratching anything, coz takut the Acer see and then viod your warranty. I used the Zalman coz after comparing the heat transfer rate. it cost almost the same as the highest Cooler Master offering but the performance is a lot more.

good luck! cool2.gif

Now should apply themal paste for which heatsink  blink.gif CPU or GPU or both blush.gif

Btw, the temperature is kinda cool.... drool.gif

I applied to all that come in contact to the copper. both die at CPU chip (why the hell Dell disable the intel GMA although it clearly have this?), and also at the GPU.

click the addreply button, then below the emoticon thing, got attachments place. browse for your pic there. I suggest you resize them first, I always used 1024 as the width. much better for web as it offers quite fast load while still legitable.

hoho, i make my own partitioning. used Acronis Disk Director. really easy to do as long as you know english and common computer terminology.

i have resized my recovery partition to 8GB, my C to 120GB and the rest to create new partition E (cant use d, it is already being used by dvd). all without destroying any existing data.

guys, I did notice this a long time ago, but maybe I've mistaken. is there such a thing that a virus or a program that can activate the webcam and send the pic to any remote server? i mean without the user's knowing.

I sometimes my webcam LED flash not more than 1 second and it happen totally random...

I am paranoid already and for now, putting a post it note to cover the webcam...
