hmm.gif Actually, I never applied this thing before to my laptop. Is it neccessary for me to apply it in order to keep my laptop "healthy"? I really have no idea about this thing and usually where should we apply this?

it's a thermal paste. it's used to cool ur processor down(i think can use on GPU also). u need to detach the heat sink in order to apply the paste on it.

I applied to all that come in contact to the copper. both die at CPU chip (why the hell Dell disable the intel GMA although it clearly have this?), and also at the GPU.
*
it's because of the chipset it use

i got a question, if i have already placed my order, and i wanna upgrade my warranty, is that possible? but my unit is not being delivered yet.
is there any charges?
anyone had any experience on this?

I am new to this forum and looking to buy a laptop. A few questions to ask the panel of experts here.

(a) Is Dell a worthy laptop compare to other brands like Toshiba and Asus?

(b) Which range of Dell offers the best deal? I am looking for a laptop that can support 1080p resolution, as well as good graphic card. Perhaps Alienware Mx17?

© Is it cheaper to buy in Malaysia or in US?

Thank you for your advice.

(a) if u r talking about performance:price ratio, here is the answer. not all dell laptops have good performance:price ratio. for laptop with price of 4k and below, no doubt sxps16 has the best performance.
(b) m15x also support 1080p

@Fantasia

One thing about the Zalman NC2000 is that you must use it in an air conditioned room to utilize it's full aluminium body.Without air con,it does cool but not by very much...however when used in an air con room(let's say 22C),you'll see some nasty drops in temperature.It's like giving your laptop a cold pack treatment-it's that cold laugh.gif

gpu,processor and hdd all drop?? or just hdd drop?? coz i heard some1 who using cm infinite on his sxps16, hdd drop by 1'C only...
