QUOTE(jitshiong @ Feb 8 2010, 03:55 PM) nah, the owner didn't blame me or anything ive had it worse 2 years back. i just want everyone here to be careful the owner apologise to me so many times... just pity that poor girl... my maid complained that there were a rat in her room and wants some poison. my old man bought some for her that weekend. then she went and put the poison on pork meat next to the fridge on the floor in the kitchen... next thing i knew, my mum called me when i was in college that the dog had poisoning. after all of us rush back,me being the first one home (1.5hr away), and followed by mum half hr after that. took the dog to the vet... in the end it was too late.. the shihtzu died twice... after knowing the full story, apparently the maid saw the dog licking every bits of the poison, she waited and ask my sis to wait.. and when the dog vomit, my maid took the dog for coconut water.... and only call my mum on the fourth hour when the dog wouldnt move.... my maid ran away after that.. ironically, my dog's name is Lucky... anyway, new pic of my JJ's baby, Baby. QUOTE(yueyi5730 @ Feb 10 2010, 08:35 AM) @PeeBee died 1st time for bout 1minute, but the vet manage to pull it back to the world.the male glider is not underage..the gliders are with u or with your friend?the food bowl give more variety of fruits and vege ya...i also wanna know wats the yellow liquid.. @jcmf how did your shitzhu dog die twice? your baby glider is so cute...u feed apple?why don't u cut it to small pieces easier for them to hold..what cage are u using? 2nd time was the end... cage is a 3ft one i assure u. however its round.. not square like all ur cages.. planning to diy one 5ft cage soon. wait till Baby become bigger... and older.. that apple was since morning. picture came 1st. morning food will be in 1 pcs as i dont like stale apple. if cut to small pcs, very fast i have to change. dont worry, their dinner is slurp. QUOTE(eekang @ Feb 10 2010, 10:46 AM) jcmf: i have 2 agree with yueyi, why u dont cut the apple into smaller and the apple look like it been there for long, beside that from wat i see the cage is not 3ft, it looks like hamster cage.*Sorry if i'm wrong* and the newspaper is every where, newspaper is printed with ink, and ink is very dangerous for them, if can try change to the 3ft cage so they can have a better environment. i replace with newspaper as i could not cut the female's nails when it was carrying the joey. hence, pouch was removes. all cloth materials are removed as well.. my female's nail always get caught..its safer this way... btw, my gliders are more than 1yrs old... so rest assured that i am capable to keep gliders.. im just happy that i have a new addition. @eric138 dont reali come in this thread cz i have not much to share and all info are quite complete. hahaha so relatively im new to this thread. thanks for the support tho. @echah83 bite is quite normal. even mine will jump on my hand. cz they think i am handing out food... however, not pain at all tho.. and if i dont have food, usually they will lick and continue climbing onto me. just keep in mind that they are more active than hamsters. if you dont like when they bite, blow them on the face when they bite. usually they will stun awhile. not too hard tho. |

QUOTE(chamyk2311 @ Feb 24 2010, 02:20 PM) oh i see. got 1 thing that really bothers me. which is the insect that used to fly on the leftover food. look like the flys but abit smaller that 1. i dunno wat it calls. everytime i put their food there, on the 2nd day morning, sure got a few of the small flies on their leftover food. How can i get rid of that? Even after i clean their cage and spray all over the play, the little thing still go back. even i move their cage spot, from the toilet until my living room, still got @.@ i also have the same problem since i moved them down to the kitchen...QUOTE(kemek @ Feb 25 2010, 10:55 AM) Thank you guys. As I mentioned before, I didn't buy it yet. Still searching and gain info from reading. My big problem is I don't have any freezer at the moment. To buy sliced fruit and veg everyday is very very costly. What am I trying to do now is to find another solution which doesn't hurt my wallet too much. Of course I want the best condition for it since I spend big amount of money for SG itself. you should realy reconsider as SG are not easy pets like hamsters. and i agree with other owners as they require alot of TLC as well as $$.@emino : read before you post @eric138 : I realized the impact. Thanks for sharing your experience. Anyway im not rushing to get one. I've been in love with SG since 3 years before, but now just got offer from friend who want to migrate for futher study. I need freezer & do more research i guess if under budget constrains and want to keep exotics, try gerbils or hedgehog as they take more dry staples. make sure u have the space also. u did mention that u dont have a freezer, so i assumed that ur staying out. hence may not have the required space. 3ft cage is not enough for them. as they are very active animals. so space is equally important. in addition, diet wise, im not as strict as many gliders keepers here. a suggestion is that u can buy fruits on the way home for college and feed it to them. they do take fruits, so dont realy need those blended stuffs. i have a friend who did that. and feed hardboild egg with it. as for me, i make random food for them. solid in the morning, slurp at night. i dont buy those HPW or other diet plans which cost a fortune. there are webpages where u can get the calcium/phosphorus ratio in fruits and vege. and PLEASE read the 1st page. alot of good reading materials for future keepers. even now i still read it as reference now and then. @eric how many gliders u have/had? and can add me to the owner's list?
